i hear ya oh-6 there was a blade 400 at the lhs with no batteries in like new condition for 135.00 last week probly a good deal but i have 2 small helis and did not want to spend the money on it so it hangs up there.
but i know what your talking about now your 450 weighs so much it is probly a verry stable flyer but not a 3d machine.

Hey OH-6,

The 450 can do all the 3d you want, I dare say better than the blade. I say get the 35 dollar job and put the good servo's and gyro on it and see what the heck.

Hey Oh-6 and Jeep and anyone else that was following my hdx450 from cutting on and off! I thought i had the problem fixed yesterday and got a new servo. I installed it today and went through the head set up. Then thought I would spool it up before I tied everything down, and dammit, it did it again. So i started one by one pulling wires out of the receiver and got all the way down to the esc. It still did it. So I pulled the receiver out of my 450se and bound it to the hdx and low and behold, no more cutting out!
But i still have one issue with it. The elevator servo is twitchy! Even at a stand still its moving ever so slightly, but moving enough where it would move everything in the head.
Anyone have that issue?

Hey sonny, you live next to a nuclear power plant? lol...

What receiver was in it that was jittering?

I've only had 2 issues with jittery servos, one was on my blade cp pro, that was using the cheap 9g servos and the brushed motor, they would start jumping when I spooled up... the other issue was on the 400, my aileron servo started jittering, it was a loose wire, the one I ended up splicing.

The blade 400 is perfectly capable of all the 3D tricks... there's plenty of videos to prove that. By the end of this coming summer, I hope to be able to prove it to you personally I've only been flying for just over 6 months, so another 6 and I hope to be doing lots of tricks.

Heck, I''ve seen video of the CP Pro doing all kinds of tricks too... but no way I can make it do them...

OH-6, no I haven't ordered on yet, I did just order a bunch of stuff from there yesterday, but they don;t split orderes, it would have held up my other stuff, so I'll wait now, according to the forums there they say that everything kinda shuts down for a week during the chinese new year, so I'll wait till after that. I have plenty of servos, gyros, motors, esc's, etc for it, I'll probably order 2 or 3 so I have plenty of spares. Can likely use some of those parts on my 400 too. Apparently they are working on a TRex 600 clone too. Should also be cheap cheap cheap....

So it's the receiver huh sonny I wonder if the new firmware will fix that, if anything it'll reboot much faster!!

Great job davey!!! Keep practicing and your lines will get better!

Your right COBRA my 450 is much too heavy to do anything now But it looks so cool so it kinda compensates

Hey Odam, don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the 400. Its just that OH-6 already has the 450. It just seems easier to stock parts for the same heli's. I see you doing all kinds of neat stuff with yours. Yep, I do live fairly close to a nuclear power plant. About 25 miles i guess. The servo i have doing the jittering, is the one i spliced!! Hmm, wonder if thats the issue. Since i had to buy another servo yesterday thinking that was the problem, I'll just replace it. Then re splice the
wires and keep it as a spare. The receiver that has issues is a ar6100 v12. Changed that receiver and the sonix motor in this thing winds right up. I just had the flybar spinning but it sure seemed to have some power!

Oh-6, how do you upgrade the firmware in these? Its probably in need of it! But I am wondering if I take it to the hobby shop if he wont send it in for me. Its not one i bought from him, but he'd probably do it.

Hey Odam, Yeah, i did look that up, I wasn't the original buyer and they ask for date purchased, so i may have the hobby shop send it in. I should check my ar7000 as well! I have another on the way for the 600n. Its good i found out about this now, then to crash a 600 and go through a set of those blades! Ouch!

Even if its not the firmware that caused the problem, they will find it when they plug it in for diagnostics.
So either way, they'll fix it.

I've heard of pretty quick turnaround times, and even them fixing some issues free of charge like busted cases, missing antenna wires etc. I guess you better be prepared to pay, but its cool if they don't charge you...

No flying this morning, it was fairly windy, not so much as to stop me from flying, but I just couldn't be bothered. It's -16C again, and with the wind chill, -30C. I had my transmitter box all warmed up and ready, but decided to come into the office and fly the sim for a while instead. Maybe at lunch time.

I ordered some eSky digital servos (ek2-0508) opn eBay just before christmas, just got them last night. I was gonna put them in my BeltCP but I decided to do a search online first to see what they were like, I should have done that before I bought them, lol... They were cheap, like $10 plus $10 for shipping from HK for 4 of them. A lot of people are swapping them out for the hextronix blue $3 servos as they aren't very reliable. hmm... I'll leave my hextronix cheapies in the BeltCP I think. Maybe use these on a foamy plane or something.

I bought a bunch of stuff off of ebay in the last month or two, and am quite happy with all the stuff I've gotten, almost all if it from Hong Kong.

lol yeah odam I'd check before buying anything online, sometimes the prices seem unbeatable but it just might be worst than what you have!!

Odam,
Yeah, me too! I bought a bunch of stuff from flea bay. And like you, most all from hong kong. Some pretty good deals, with shipping yet! Gotta wonder how they can do that! I was looking at a receipt this morning, a main gear/tail assembly is 20 bucks here, plus tax and from hong kong shipped its 10bucks. ?????
Its very chilly out today with the wind chill. I guess by the middle of next week we might have an above freezing day!!

I say cheap prices make tons of more orders. That's what I would probably do myself, give unbeatable prices and get tons of orders...

Plus they get the stuff from the manufacturers and don't have to waste more on shipping...
