This tread has been going for over 3 years and all we got to is 358? I know there has to be alot more 700s out there. I figured we'd be well over 1000 by now at least. Wonder where they're all at

I'm curious to see how many of the early posters are still flying their original 700's and how many either sold or totaled them as well. My 700 (#105) is still going strong with over 250 flights, no crashes, and all the orginal parts except for the engine which I upgraded to the 91HZR and the 770 gyro which I swapped out for the DS760. This is one heck of a machine that I've grown to love at trust over the past 3 years becuase it hasn't given me any problems what so ever. I am thinking to upgrade to FBL once Futaba releases the spectrum adapter for all the JR users to use the CY750.

Wow, Ladymagic...
No crashes??? C'mon your not flying hard enough!

My #340 700N has had 6-7 crashes over the last couple of years (three last fall in a couple of days), and many hard autos. I have it dialed in better now than ever, it get's on average about 10 flights a week during the winter, and with the 701 combo it's tight. I broke a Quick UK clutch last weekend and a torque tube gear from a hard auto, but other than that she's been awesome and in her current state has been the preferred ship...old and decripit like me...LOL

DragonFlya,

Wow, I wish I could get out as much as you do, but lately that's been quite the task just to get out once a weekend. On average, I my 700N gets to stretch out about 12 flights a month.

I do push it. I'm pretty hard on my TT with alot piros and chaoses and I do alot pop stops. I probably could fly a little bit harder though.

But, like you said about yours, my 700N has been a dream to fly and maintain. Other than a gyro problem and an engine problem, this heli hasn't given me a single mechanical hiccup. It's still running all the orginal kit parts and going strong I do have an Aurora90N, but believe it or not, I'd rather fly my 700. Keep flying hard mister

Oopsididitagain,
There's a simple KDE tail upgrade that makes it much tighter and bomber. I also run KDE mainshaft bearing blocks, Quick UK clutch.
These mods are important if your gonna hammer on your 700. Good luck on your new bird!

Ladymagic,
Very cool, I've been eying an avant aroura, but I'd have to start over with crash kits. Glad your a pilot, my 11 year old boy gives me a run for it, my 6 year old girl hangs out with us, but isn't overly interested in flying...yet

Forgot to mention one other critical upgrade... Quick UK balls/links. The stock align ones will get loose after ~15-25 flights. The blade grip links could end your party early . We all use quick UK locally. They keep the swash plate tight and last.

In dubai?
Not sure. The rr home page has all kind of online parts shops, not sure who would ship to dubai
Best
Matt

If they wiggle they are getting loose. I fly on a farm and the soil is gritty, mixed with nitro residual and they wear faster. I had a crash due my tail ball worn so bad it popped off in flight, another crash when the throttle link popped off in flight.
