Hi!
Thanks, but I am looking for an original Morley Scout and all the informations I can get about it.
I talked with LHC about their new version ( seems to be bigger than the Morley helicopter).

Regards
Klaus

the body shell is from the morley moulds
the display model is Jim Morleys that he fitted the maverick mechanics into but they were removed and the pegasus mechanics fitted

if you are after an original then keep an eye on ebay uk and the bmfa web site

Still Flying!!!
Just noticed this post popped back up...
I still have mine, and did away with the A123 batteries and now fly it with a 5s 4000 lipo...it is such a fun little heli to fly.. it does use the Pegasus mechanics..and I did the conversion, well it looks like a few years ago now!!!
It does use a wire drive, and I have only had one problem with that, but that is when the A123 batteries I had in it gave up during a flight... a few minor repairs and she is back up and still having fun with it...
Good Luck with your search... Stan

Morley Westland Scout
Hello Stan!

Now I got one Scout from Ebay. :-) :-)
The only problem is that I have no plan or manuals. Because the hor. stabilizer is missing I would need the dimensions.
Do you have any documents about the scout or could you give me the dimensions?

Kind regards
KLaus

Hello Klauss
I would be happy to give you any dimesions that I can.
If you look at the pics on the first page, you will see that mine does not have a hori stab.
So you may be working on a different fuselage then the one I have, but please feel free to ask anything you feel might be of help..

Hello Stan!

Thanks for your message. Well, I took this picture as template : http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviati...4/8/0721843.jpg

It looks like the stabilizer of the Bell47. Will try to take the dimensions from the photo of the original.

Kind regards
Klaus

Still Going!!!!!!!!!
This little heli is like a Timex watch... it takes a licking and keeps on ticking!!!!

I was just reviewing the post to see when I actually put this together... 2008... I have had to replace one tail drive wire since then, and changed to a 5s 4000 mah lipo for power instead of the A-123 batteries (the wire drive did not fail, the batteries did!!!)
Well, for the fun of it, I took mine to the Cajun Heli Fest a couple of weeks ago, and desided to fly it in the B class Len Mount Scale event....
For a 6 year old model, it did just fine and I was able to finish in 3rd place with it!!!!

Of course, EVERYONE thought that the "WA WA" tail drive was going to fail at any moment..but it held up just fine!!!!
Always been a fun flier.

PARTS Are Available
I hear that all parts are still available for this fun little heli at
Pegasusheliusa.com
Scot even mentioned that he even has some kits left for those looking for a fun to fly little heli...

The one above has had no failures, except for the batteries letting go and putting me in which did not even bend a main shaft or spindle.. just had to repair the tail boom and a new wire drive...

These are strong little machines... and all fun....worth a look..
I will be letting Scot know what is needed for the conversion and where the parts come from....if you would prefer e-power!!

Twin Star EP Conversion
I'm waiting on the motor to get to me for the Twin Star conversion.

The pack, pinion, ESC, is all here, just waiting for the power

I am revamping the tail drive! I was not happy about the gluing they did for the formers and drive wire, so will be on that before too long.

The tail may or may not have had a tail cone for the fuse. I bought it from someone and since the tail is open I'll spend the time to make a plug and mold for the tail cone that will be removable for service. Not a scale machine by any means, but anything will be an improvement over a open tail case sticking out.

This was/is a Easy Scale/Fun-Key that LHC did. Very simple & quick to assemble....can not really say build as 90% of it is already done.

I do have an extra Pegasus Glow & a few conversion mounts if anyone is interested, just PM or e mail me.

Thanks again Stan for your help. Hope you & the family are doing well!

Have a FUN and SAFE 4th of July

Hopefully the pics will show up, if not I have a few in my gallery.

Looking Good.....
Scott, looks like you have it well on it's way to being a good looking fun scaler!!!
The wire drive that is supplied, really works fine... a bit noisy in FF from the "whip" but mine is still running like the first day I fired it up!!!
Also, the tail was exposed on this fuselage... guess they figured since it is a sport scaler, just leave it exposed... I agree with you that it would look much better with the "butt" covered!!!

We are doing good, and I am building like crazy (heli's and planes!!!) and enjoying every minute of it...
You and your family have a great 4th also...

Re: Drive wire
Hi Stan,

I'm keeping the wire drive as is, just the glued in formers and such was done on a Friday or Monday and I'll likely add more on a "Z" bend on both ends of the wire.

I like to sandpaper, roughen up the area to be glued and I use Hysol same stuff as BVM Aeropoxy.

Glad to hear you are staying busy.....but you have no trouble doing that

Thanks again & enjoy the weekend.

E-Power & FBL
The E-Power test flight was a good one did not do much flying mainly blade tracking, throttle curve, etc.

With the advise from Intimidator here on RR I found a Gaui FBL head set for the 425 - 550 Hurricane. Actually the full conversion set with the controller for a dirt cheap price The conversion you use the Peg mainshaft, and make up the control linkage.....I had a extra set from a Fury .90 that were the perfect length.

I still need to get a set of FBL blades and final setup with the phasing but will try my first FBL machine in the next few weeks.

Long term use on FBL I'll need a controller that can do both EP and GP as I do want to go more FBL helis in the future but can't commit to strictly EP or Glow like them both

Have a awesome Sundays guys!

Schweet!!!
Glad to hear testing is going well.
It looks good without the flybar!!!
I still have my original nitro bird...in my spare time, it might be fun to make it fbl just to see how much different it would fly witout it!! I am sure the added power would be quite noticeable!!!
