I only asked because I just recently got one from rcexpert and I paid $219. I see now rcmachine is selling theirs for $179. A good deal if you ask me. Here's the link:
http://www.rcmachine.net/accessory....147&aid=LP1050A

Did you get some sort of discount to bring it down to $120?

I bought it from their E bay site on a second chance offer. I was outbid in the original auction when the head went for $150, my max bid was $120 + $10 shipping to the U.K.

Oh **** ! this is going to be expensive?

@ Lightningheli (John)

Hello!
As your swashplate seems to be the weak point of your set, you should address this issue or maybe offer the head without the swashplate. What do you think? Your 5-blade-head seems very interesting to me - but I don't want to throw away the swashplate and buy another - a better one...

Martin

Hello,

in a few ebay shops in hongkong i found this head labeled as V2,but at the pics it looks allways like the old version with the long blade grips
I found only this shop, but a terrible price
http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servle...NC-Metal/Detail

Anyone know a shop where i can get the real V2 Version for a better price?

Regards

Go to http://www.rc-expert.com. They have the version II that you are looking for, that's where I got mine.

You will be fine! I used both the SK 360 and not mixing unit as well (used mechanical phasing) and she flew just fine!!

Here is photos of my MD530 with the Lightning heli V2 5 blade head.
I am having a few minor problems with it. I could not get the heli into the hover until 3/4 stick although I had set the pitch to hover at at half stick. The head speed is set to 1420rpm. I am using the V stabi but I'm also having problems with the setup. I needed to set 45deg phasing in the software to get the blades to move correctly i.e. one blade over the tail and input elevator and the blade should not move, then to the 3 o clock position for the aileron test. When I have the head set up this way and tilt he heli nose down the V stabi does not seem to react by moving the swash? Do I have somthing setup wrong?

Oh **** ! this is going to be expensive?

It would take a brave soul to buy another one of their 'updated' heads. I would certainly hesitate to buy anything from a company with this kind of track record...and I have a TRex 600E sitting here just waiting for a 5-blade head.

I have been keeping up with this thread meerly for the entertainment factor. I just don't understand why guys keep buying these crap rotor heads for their 50 size scale Helicopters even after all of the negative reports here on runryder. After spending so much time and money on a scale helicopter to turn around and put a junk rotor head on it does not make any sense (I too got suckered into buying one of these when they were first released because of the "great price", and one was enough). Even after all the so called versions they are still junk. Why not put a little more money together and buy a quality head from Graupner, Century, OF, Vario, Hirobo, or Midland Helicopters they have three nice ones part number CN1103, CN1104, and CN1105. All of these companies make heads for 10mm main shafts.

Some guys have already bought versions 1, 2, and 3 of the junk Lightning heads only to find that they are still just that; junk. Beyond that, why would this company put any real money or effort into the design or manufacturing of these junk rotor heads if people keep buying them as they are???

With all the money spent on these inferior products the guys that have bought and continue to buy these heads could have bought the best out there which is in my opinion "OF"

Richard

Is it just me, I thought all Helicopters flew in 3D......Hmmmm?

I was told by scaleflying the Lightning heads they are selling was made for them as they would need them. Scalefying was making them make the heads the right way the 1st time out. If you did get one from scaleflying that wasn't right they would do whatever need to get things right with you.

Lightning told scaleflying that they wasn't going to keep making the heads for them the way they wanted. Meaning something that work right the 1st time out, so they have all the parts and heads that work, but also they are making their own heads that's made in the USA. I did a test on their 4 bladed Lightning head, and everyone that got them from scaleflying 3, 4 and 5 bladed heads worked fine the 1st time out. Just my 2 cents. Take care!

Richard I hear what you say and honestly I am with you 100% having had the same experience with the lightning head. I only pasted the link because they are making their own cnc rotorheads here in the states and ordered one this monday so I should be getting it by friday. Also from what nI understood talking to the owner is that if you buy a lightning from them they make sure it is in good condition before you get it... in comparison with me getting a wobbly bearing with the swashplate and then being told I didn't know much about that.... [flying planes and heli for a living... I guess I should know a little about the stuff ] Anyways I'm getting away from the subject here... I'm sorry.

This said I will give you guys some feed back when I get the new head.

cheers. happy flying
