I flew, but not very well.

Have NOT flown in about 2-3 days.

Lost my mojo.

I digressed in flying ability.

Never had this before. Have you?

Yep. Its like getting in the pool 2 ways to do it go in easy start with your toe in the water and slowly get in. Or jump right in its scary at first but you get to swimming much faster than the first way.

Moral of that story If I dont fly for a couple days I force myself into a nosein takeoff right off the bat. thats the proverbial jumping into the pool for me.

Mike, that happens to me alot. I was out camping for a week and couldn't believe how much confidence I had lost when I got back. It took a full days flying to get back in the groove. Since then, I've been trying to fly every day even if its only one pack. I'm at point where progress is really slow and I don't want to loose any ground.

Tryan, didn't know you could take off nose-in. Congrats, that's a big hurdle.

yeah it was a big hurdle. I just went outside and said I was gonna do it 3 pack was a charm. I am taking off and landing nosein. I need to get some vid of it I am shaky at it yet. landing nose in is hard you are forced to hover in the ground effect and still sit it down smoothly. No Really I am the club President!!!

After not flying for 13 days, I didn't seem to see any degradation in my flying skills. Maybe I'm just different, but I didn't miss a beat. Of course, I did put some stick time in on the sim, though. Perhaps, that kept my flying skills sharp.

I think that you dont lose as much when flying in fff. Ive been flying pretty hard and i dont feel like i lose very much if any. But im not doing much hovering anymore. Hard fff and high. Its great.

Congrats on the nose in take offs and landings Tryan.

I definately jumped right in. That's how I've always went about it, even when first learning. I was a little nervous, having not flown for 13 days, but jumping right in a getting to it calmed my nerves rather quickly. As a matter of fact, I think that taking some time off every now and then may be beneficial. It's like working out with weights...your muscles don't grow and you don't get stronger during the actual workout...you get stronger when you are resting after the workout.

By the way, Tyran...congrats on the nose-in take-offs and landings.

I flew.

The first pack was awesome. Had a near miss but saved it just awesomely. But then it started getting dark,
I had just put more light on my heli,
so I went for it.

Big mistake.
3 hours later
I just finished putting it 90% of the way back together.
Going to finish it completely tomorrow.
Still have to replace the main shaft,
flybar,
and balance two blades from two different sets.

The canopy is in a bad way,
but it isn't flight critical.

So for those of you following,
my invention suffered a pretty hardcore injury,
but I was able to glue it back together.

Still haven't drained that Outrage pack completely,
I think its cursed.

Had her 90% last night,
put the finishing touches on about 2 hours ago.

I have spent the rest of the time trying to get these damn blades to balance.

Just finished that,
the wife will be home any minute and then I am off.

My new "WARNING" blades.

The wind was kicking up ridiculously today - 12 mph with 20 mph gusts.

So I tried to fly anyway.

After seeing the heli bob like a cork, then shoot up 25 ft, then nearly get forced into the ground, I decided to find something else to do for a while. Quite an exciting minute and a half. I'm glad I fly in idle up - I had it below mid-stick to come down at one point.

Went over to a bud's house and the wind died down when it was nearly dusk. Flew out the rest of the pack, so the day wasn't a wash after all.

Not today. Yesterday I did 6 packs. Test tune, adjustments etc.

Actually a kid came visit my neighbor and he was really interested in the heli. He's like 8 and he didn't even ask how high does it goes, he figured out and understand how things work on there better then anyone else I've known. He even realize about orientation issues after saw me hover.

Today, after work got about a few hour of sunshine left. I also have side job for 2hr @ $60/hr.. Make 120 bucks or fly, hmmm.... I went for the $$$ to support the hobby.

I flew about a half a pack.

I wasn't going to take the same chances that I took before with the low light,
but I had to get a little "fix."

For those of you still interested,
I plan to disclose my invention on here tomorrow.

I will have info,
and 2 videos.
