man I had the best night yet of flying and i didn't even do anything new.things are just clicking and it feels good to be making noticable progress.the front and back flips are much tighter(i am ready for consecutive flips now)and backwards upright flying is much much better(both directions)I can also hover entire packs inverted which is cool.I am almost done step 1 of my long term goals

It's been Freaky windy here during the week, but it wasn't too Bad last weekend weather patterns have been unpredictable too say the least ! Hopefully this weekend will be O.K., I still fly in the wind and say F*** it, although it presents it's own special challenges for sure Zaw !

Flew yesterday all was great until the end.
Did a lot of inverted circles and some backwards circles and a new thing that I learned, continuous flip rolls that look realy cool.

At the end of each session I force myself to fly 2 packs doing things I dont like, this time I did counter clockwise circles off to my left that I have a mental block about, got caught by a wind gust and dumb thumbed the 500 straight in.

2 metal gear servos are toast and I let all the magic smoke out of the ESC plus a set of blades and a boom.

looks like FBL is a double edged sword, no flybar or linkages to break but a lot more crash energy is transfered to the servos hence 2 dead servos, the crash was not that bad really.

I did some simple circuit to relax today and helped trim my buddie's 450 Pro.

That's the last heli flight for me for at least a week. I've been test flying my first SSC combat plane (cut the streamers off other planes). I did this with an electric motor instead of a .15 nitro. I'm using 2 2200mAh 3S Lipos from my Helicopter stash. Me and 2 other buddies got the urge to compete in our club's SSC combat event on the 15th. most guys show up with 4-6 planes. I'll only have 2 and my buddies will have 1. We're going to have a go at it and probably do some combat amonst ourselves during the weekday mornings when it's just us farting around.... We chose electric cause the upfront cost was lower considering we already had lots of Lipos. This will be interesting..

I've finally no longer under the influence.....of pollen. The drugs help with running nose, and the eyes. But nothing helps the feeling like I'm in slow motion. Flying in this state is hard as I'm always about a half second behind the heli.

Today the pollen levels were down and the sun was up. Flew the Trex Pro, Trex 500 and the Knight at the club field. The Pro contines to impress and its familiar size makes it my "fits like a glove" heli. The T500 continues to flip slowly dispite the new KBDD paddles, higher headspeed and increased cyclic pitch. At least is not such a dog to fly anymore. But its still my least nimble heli.

The Knight still scares me a bit. It's large 600mm blades demand respect and though its nimble and tosses around well, I like to fly it big and far away from me. My other helis I'll keep close and work accuracy and new stuff. With the Knight, it just begs to be put into long, very fast sweeping turns. Big fast figure eights are quite a rush.

Greg,

I'm a victim of pollen myself. Claratin seems to work well without the drowsy effect.

As far as your T500, I can take a look at it. FYI, it's not going to be as quick as a 450. I was running my old T500 with a Scorpion 1600kv governed at 3K headspeed. T500 flies a bit tame with the stock motor.

Thanks Andy. I'm on Claritin as well along with 2 other drugs. As for the T500, its still on the stock 500L, 13t flat 100% with the stock ESC. I have a 14t and 15t along with a Hobby Wing ESC ready to go in. The HW is spare but its gov works OK. There's more room in the packs so increasing the headspeed is an option.

I'm not really interested in putting any more money in the T500. I was just shopping for a 12s setup for the Knight. The move from 300 to 500 really didn't do it for me. But the move from 450 to 600 is a different story.

I have a bag of 500 parts for you. CF tail blade, main gear, hardware, etc. I have no use for them...

For 12S setup. I can give you a number to a buddy of mine. He sells Lipos and chargers for a pretty good price. I've been trying to convince him to join our club. You might know him. His name's David.

When the engine in my SDX needs to be replaced I'm going to switch to an electric setup. Maybe next year!!
