15% nitro just lacks power.
Could it be running too rich?

What % do you normally run?

He was a little but not too rich. I did a full power climbout and decent it had next to no bogging and no over-revving on the decent that tells me it was tuned pretty good when it flies like an electric. I know my raptor50 with 30% was twice as fast I hate 15% MMike its just me and my lack of skills. 15% is hard to tune to keep the engine cool and get great power It is a fine line. I just spend the extra dough for 30% much easier to tune you can have plenty of power running super rich or you can lean it out a bit and go ballistic!!!

I did 3 packs after work, I feel more and more confident every pack I fly. But I'm sure that I will make a lawn dart out of it sometime and that will take me down a few pegs..

I don't normally fly in public places. But the weather has been nice this week and I've done so little flying this year I decided to check out a spot popular with some local fliers. Its a few vacant lots a little off the beaten track. No one around so I went for a flight. 4 minutes into the first flight, I hear from behind me "is that electric?". I holler back, yes. Appearently he didn't hear me and yells "EXCUSE ME". Not sure who is behind me or what his agenda is, I land and turn to face a mountain biker. We have a brief conversation about electric helis and so on. Then he is on his way.

I guess I'm spoiled at the club field where even the visitors seem to know not to bother a pilot while he is in the air. What strikes me most was the appearent lack of patience. Its not like I was running a nitro and in the air for 15 minutes. He was no where to be seen when I started the flight so at most he might have only been behind me for a minute or two. What happened to observing and waiting patently?

Greg, that's happened to me a couple of times. One time this person was persistent in getting my attention so I landed my Trex500. He said, "My heli is stuck up in the tree can you use your heli and try to bump it down?" I said, "No, sorry." He was quite upset that I was unwilling to help. I watched him throw sticks and stones up into the tree with no success.

Did a test fly on the Align 500 this morning and all was good.
Also did a test flight with a new Tx/Rx on a Flasher 450 (clone) I'm selling to someone. His Tx/Rx and my Helicopter (soon to be his)

Picked up an Eflite Edge 450 (oops, nope it's an E-flite Cap232) which is a profile funfly plane. Included ready to fly with Rx and 4 batteries. It was too windy for the Eflite so I'll fly it tomorrow.

The mowers were at the field this morning and it looks like a golf course fairway now. All the weekend flyers were grumbling cause they are supposed to mow on Thursdays so it's shorter for the weekend.

Hello Melnic, In the first pop I think the downwash pushed the balloon down into something sharp But the second pop was a legit mainblade direct hit.

HeliKV, Fantastic flying with the little guy !

Someone left a "Hawk" Kite in the feild so we did a Heli vs' Hawk battle !!! The Hawk won

Yep, the kite string quickly wrapped itself around the swashplate pulling the Hawk into the heli, looking like an attack Only damage was a stripped main gear.
