Must be near spring.

It was nice and clam and started out with Gaui 425 it was flying OK and it started to get really really windy, kicking up dust and leaves from parking lot toward me, strong enough to slam the 425 on the ground. Only loss tail fin and everything else look ok.
Back at home I live in a bowl no winds here, HBK in the parking lot is always fun.

I flew a little today. Gave up and came back inside.

15 to 20 MPH gusts.

Not fun. All of my focus was on not crashing.

Got 1 flight in with the HBFP. There was a "slight breeze" blowing, and I didn't have a lot of room (just flying in the front yard).

Went okay until the breeze caught it low to the ground, while turning to come back. It tipped it over on landing and broke a small connector on the head.
Nothing major, I have more, I just need to pop a flybar paddle off, and put the new connector on (been so ling since I worked on the thing, I forgot the name of it.. looks like a dog-bone connector, but I know there's another name for it.. darn things break really easy on the FP).

Was good to fly an actual heli, but that breeze sucks (well, okay, technically I guess it blows . . .).

I'll fix it up in a bit, and go give it another try.
I'd probably have been okay just staying with hovering, and for my first real flight in a while, I probably should have, but ya know how THAT goes.

Well still no new batteries, but I flew today. I was fighting the wind to and probably shouldn't have been. I did find a new spot, the fair grounds parking lot, no people, and plenty of space. It seems I get braver by the pack, so I figure I'm due to crash.

Flew HBK today. I had 15 min before sunset. Just awesome. I really like it. Just a bit more of upgrades and it will be spectacular heli.

I kept saying the same thing for 2 years. Always one or two upgrades away from being done. I still believe I'm one upgrade away from having a spectaular HBK2. Its a sickness, there is no cure. Only abstinence So I set to aside so I can learn to fly.

Oh and yes, I did fly today. Weather is odd, and generally bad as !2old says. So I flew indoors, inverted with the mSR.

It is great already. But everytime there are options. I still use 8m tail boom and I cannot find or what I found quite expensive tail blocks. HBK is expensive, I admit this. Really it flyes now awesome, even on woodies, even on 2800 HS. Flips really less then 1m (3 feet) above the ground are easy, easy.

I think of digitals on cyclic, better gyro. About gyro, I am not sure, that I overgrown FU401. And I am not sure I really need digitals. Anyway, for now, my HBK budget is over, so it will stay as it is until unevitable, then I'll put what I've accumulated for her or I will delay upgrade until I get all wanted (and unnecessary) parts. 10mm CNC alum tail assembly bothers me most of all. I do not have good idea where to get it.

clear blue skies, almost no wind. At the AMA field. 4 planks and 3 helis including 2 of mine. We flew one at a time and BS'd in between. We even smoked another cheap Lipo that was failing (guy mistakingly got a 15C lipo for his TRex600 that someone said was mislableed and was really 30C, well it wasn't. Kept puffing)

Flew the EXI 450 pro 2 flights doing some simple flips, I was trying to be comfortable doing forward flips, with piros on the last 3/4 of the flip. Did that over and over again, then flew the 500. After a couple messy piro flips where I threw in too much negative at the wrong time, I came pretty darn close to crashing it. Close enough that I thougt it was really going in but managed to save it about 3' from the ground. Landed it, took a deep breath, then took off for some circuits. I did fly one more time but did simple flips forward, backwards, sideways then some basic sport flying to relax.

BTW, I have a Futaba 520 and 9257 combo on the 450 Pro. It's holding the tail SOOO nice right now. Holding well and I must have a sweet spot in the gain cause no matter what pack I have in there (good 30C or older 25C) it's holding nicely all the time even with some variations in headspeed.

Guy had his 1/4 scale Fokwolf (sp?) and there were a couple other planes. I wish I did not have to go back to work. Gonna pick a day off next week and put in for vacation time..

My club had an indoor fly-in today.
It was mid day though. 70 and sunny outside !!!!
There was multiple aircraft continuously.
I flew 8 through the MSR, 3 with the Esky Lama V3 (which felt HUGE!)
My parkzone Sukhoi let me down. Motor mount was broken and I fixed it, then found the aileron servo wire was intermittant so it was a dudd.

I tried an indoor loop w/ the MSR but could never get enough speed going to do it. I did fly it inverted at the end though with a rough dump.
