Tail rotor blade gone during flip to upright. Just broke at the root. Heli was stable, I landed immediately - no visible damages. Changed tail blades - seems fine. I think I can consider myself lucky.

Right! I should have been adding 'sometimes, eh'. Actually I cannot believe that heli could fly safely to land without one tail blade. Amazing!

Anyway, English is not my native.

I have read prerequisites necessary to make piroflip:
- Stable piro upright
- Moving piro upright
- The same inverted
- Stable constant elevator and aileron flipping in one place.

Probably I can learn all this if to fly non-stop for the whole day and even in this case I doubt it is achievable for me.

Well, step by step.

Yes, I flew my Axe CX today. Wish I could fly my Trex 450SE but it is raining like crazy. Maybe I will start building my other 450SE.

Do you know where I can get the 450SE V1 tail drive assembly? The V2 assbly pulley slips off. The V1 has the splined shaft not glued.

YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The weather dude lied and we got a break in the New England weather.

Flew 15 this morning, 15 at noon and 15 this evening

It ended on a sour note though, my flying buddy crashed his 450.
He was doing this thing where he goes up high does a stall turn and with the nose pointing straight down, does multiple aileron rolls on the way down.
For some reason that we can't quite figure he didn't pull out of it at the end as usual and just went straight in nose first.

Maybe the postmortem will show the cause or maybe just brain lock?

Idle up switch or not enough negative sounds right.
I did that last week and was lucky that I started it a bit higher.
That looks (and sounds) like a really nice heli.

Exactly. Fliped in normal mode. We forgot to insert battery to camera, so I waited and flipped switches. So my normal starting sequence was violated and... Most funny I advised somewhere in RR how to avoid this. My suggestion was to set pitch curve to flat 0. Guess what - mine was not on this heli. On other helis it is 0.

Damage is not that big so far:
- couple of servo gears
- main shaft bearing
- couple of ball links
- flybar
- scratch on tail boom, but I can live with this.

Maybe something else which I did not notice yet.

Radix seems alive!

So revised list of damage:
1 servo gear
2 main bearings
1 flybar
3 ball links
1 head button bolt
Number of bolts replaced, just as precaution.

Looks to me, not bad, eh.

Mel, about sound - I also do not like it, I walked through heli, trying to find the reason, but out of luck. There is some whistling, whirling of not normal tone when hovering. When throttle is increased and heli goes up, it disappears. Without blades sound is OK. I assume, that it is motor + wobbling main gear. Maybe CC ESC adds to this.
