ok so i was thinking about getting one of these... my friend was going to sell me his and he said he has a red motor and blue motor and a bunch of different gears... what gear ratio would give me the best 3d performance while not sucking down the battery?

If by "red" motor and a "blue" motor he means a Z30 Blue...and Z20 red..the Z20 would be better for the smaller batteries you have....but there are other Red and blue motors..

The Stock Gaui motors are very heard on lipos.

AS far as gear ratios go....you really haven't told us enough about the motors....what KV rating and what brand motors are they.

Has your friend flown with these motors and how did it fly on the gearing he used?

Once you get the specs...you will get more replies.

Any good lipo charger that can do multiple lipos is pretty good...I use qa hobbico accu-cycle...I like it because it tells me exactly how many mah I put back in each pack.

You should have plenty of good hobby shops in DFW...I used to live there and liked Roy's in Bedford....they can hook you up.

You will only get about 5 -6 mins on those batts...and i'm not sure about the hard 3D....maybe 4 -5 if your lucky.

as long as you have the proper charger for lipos...and a way to recharge your 12v battery it should work...but may not be the best way to do it....

I use a cheap laptop power supply capable of 4 amps...and charge 2 batteries at a time with my Hobbico Accucycle.
