Listen carefully because I didn't.

I picked up a used Avant that came with 9252 servos. The manual clearly calls for metal geared servos, I bought a set of 9451s but was too lazy to change them. I stripped a gear in flight, it nosed over into the ground and had to be pitchforked with a chair to get it to stop chicken dancing. I had the servos sitting on my shelf and said "after this weekend I'll swap them out...."

Did that get you going? I don't know the 9303 well enough to give you detailed instructions.

Hi Again
I have just put my FX on the bench and checked it out.
Looking from the tail to the nose.
Top servo on left is Elevator
Botom servo on left is Aileron
Ft servo on right is Pitch
120 ccpm Aileron -50
Elevator -50
Pitch +60
This is on Spectrum/JR on JR servos so Futaba will probably be +50/+50-/-60
Hope this helps
PS i run my head speed normal & Idle 1 1700 Idle 2 1850 (with stock head)
1900 to 1950 with Avant head (lower than this you may get nodding)
For my style of flying (agressive sport)i prefer the stock head.

I found that a Trex swash plate leveling tool will work on the Avant. Setup was perfect 0 at half and +-12 deg

I once choked a smurf to see what color it would trun

Thanks Dood I am sure you recognise it as the Synergy canopy. I found the stock Avant canopy a little small and had orentation problems. With a "good" paint job it would be realy smart.
It fitted perfectley with using the Synergy ft crosmember an a small sheet of carbon plate. Also moved the rear standoffs back a little.

UK2BX, what setting's are you going to use on the CXP head ?? and which 'flybar' are you going to use.

I'm not sure what you're style of flying is, but Ive had allsorts of problems trying to get mine to 'wake' up.

Also be careful with the washout 'block' it's very easy to over-tighten the washout arm retainers and distort the 'block' and binds on the main-shaft.

I'm going to set up the head to all normal settings , not more stable or active , I'm using the 555mm flybar with hirobo paddles and some flybar weights. I will let you know how it flys as soon as possible , By the way "the old guy" thats a pretty nice fleet you have there...
