Has anyone used an Astro Blinky on the stock battery that comes with the Blade 400? I use one on my TP packs, and it works great. I tried using it on my fathers Blade 400 battery and it lights up with the three lights when it is first plugged in, but then the same two lights just keep blinking simultaneously. It never stops. I had it on there for a while, and I found the Blinky was getting warm. Any thoughts? I am trying to make sure he keeps his battery balanced, but it seems like the Blinky doesn't work right on that battery.

2 explanations occur to me (neither saying there is anything wrong with using the blinky).

1) The battery is really a long way out of balance- maybe to the extent of having a damaged cell.

2) one of the wires going to the balance plug is either broken or disconnected.

If I were to place a bet, it would be on the battery being out of balance. Do you have a voltmeter so you can check the voltage on each cell at the balancer?

By the way, Blinky's do get warm in normal use, so that's nothing to worry about. They work by turning the excess voltage on the highest cells into heat.
