I have done searches and I want to get a more definitive answer on which Scorpion motor to get for my 450 SE V2. 2221-6 or -8?

I fly 3D and am currently running Align 430XL(3700kv) and Align 35A ESC. TP 3cell Extreme 2200mAh batteries.

I will be getting a 55A ESC with the motor.

I am leaning toward the -8 to get longer flight times than the -6 and it still has quite a bit more output power that the Align motor.

One last thing, how do I determine which pinion to use?

Nick
If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter

the -8 has more than enough power to 3d. as for pinion you need to know what headspeed you want to run at and then you can use this to find a pinion

hope this helps

if you have a 430xl and you want a little more go with the -8 and you can use your esc and throw a 13t on and away you go. if you want allot more then the 430xl get the -6 on a 11t and get the new esc and expect 4 min flights times
