I recently got in to rc Helli's and I love it! My stock esc went out on me and i replaced it with cc phoenix 35a and now my Helli bobs up and down when I'm in a hover? Is my lack of skills or something else?

Thanks!!!!

Usually this is cause by too slow head speed.

Check your throttle and pitch curves. This might be causing it. Does it do it while you maintain the same power and collective? What heli do you have?

How high are you hovering? Rotor wash might have something to do with it also. But most likely what the others have posted probably low head speed.

You may want to check your left thumb

Its an ESKY Belt Cp with a Spektrum DX7. I'm hovering a about a foot off the ground. I'm still learning to hover so I don't feel comfortable going to to high yet.

You are still in the ground effect at that height. Try to hover a couple of feet off the ground.

It probably does it worse when you are going back or forward on the right stick. It's doing it because of the change in blade dynamics. It's going to be tough to do right now, just learning, but you will need to learn to give it a little extra power/collective at the same time you move the right stick to compensate for it. Increased head speed will reduce it but won't cure it. I'm running a slower head speed on my Heli-Max 450 to get longer practice flight time than the Trex 450 and the Helimax will drop two or three feet sometimes if I don't add power.
