Yep, I agree and I think most of the 400 owners out here would also agree #1 servos, and #2 gyro.

I vote #1 Gyro, that was the 1st thing I did. Since I fly 3d the other thing I did quickly was throw on a set of Radix blades. I have since replaced the tail servo(9257) and still have the stock servos after 60ish flights.

Man! Littleman, You must be one lucky and daring guy. I can't believe you would being doing 3d with the stock servos. That definitely where the lucky comes in, and to have them last that long. Good for you!

they are just now getting a little sloppy, but other than the fact that they are a little slow, they 3D fine, chaos funnels tic tocs etc.
Cross, stick with the 401, and technicaly the jr servos are supposed to be the ideal, ones and on a rex the packaged is awesome, however, i am a futaba guy.

from what I understand they drop in easier than the 65's, although I have not tried, look up youthflyer here on RR.

Crossbox,

the 65mg's are a snug fit the tail setup is bolt on and with the head all you have to do is use the stock blade 400 main shaft and trim the top 1/8th to get the bolt holes to line up and it drops right in. there are alot of parts made by align, and rc-tec that will fit the blade
when your ready on of us can walk you though the process

littleman what where you saying drops in easier the the 65's. the only servos i know that fit like stock are the stock ones.
e-flight tried to make this bird so only e-flight servos and parts would fit.
on the blade 400 the servos move the swash up for negative and down for positive.
so with the hitec's all you have to do is adjust your swash mix. just flip your numbers from + to -.

now thats a tricked out blade 400 if i ever saw one

The first upgrade is a good gyro, logictech 2100 is my choice BC its the same weight as the stock and holds as good as a 401.

The Jr Ds285's fit like stock with no modification. The hitec ones are larger and require some filing to fit.
