12 and 13

12 or 13 teeth is what you need to run on 6s, if you go to 5s or 4s you will need to buy with more teeth. The manuel says upto 18 teeht for 4s but they are not yet available.

I know Jason K. is saying a 15T is great for 5S for good power. I bought a 14T after running the 13T on 5S, and that was a big change. I'm going to stick with that one as it gives really good power, yet I still get a 8 minute flight on 4000s.

Honestly to bring the heli to life, I'd highly recommend running a higher head speed. 14T on 6s would really wake up this heli. I am currently running a 1600 scorpion motor but have a 15T pinion and 85%. On the included 13T pinion, I felt the 500 was still a little tame for my tastes.

Docjoe, I do definitely agree that the higher headspeed really wakes up the heli. Mine was good and I thoroughly have been enjoying it on 13T, but the 14 helped out a lot. It still lacks a little of the extra oomph that I know a 15T or going to 6S would do for it.

With the 14T on 5S, I get much better performance though my flight time isn't any shorter than when I was running the 13T. I think this is because I have less of a tendency to bog the heli down if I mis-time something.

Paul the performance of 5S 4000 on 16T IMO is very comparible to 6S 13T and thats with a heavier 4000 5S. I think with a slight lighter 5S it would be really really close if not match it. I have done both. Started with 6S 2500, then 5S 4000 now back to 6S again. I think my next will be a lighter 5S that will give about 6 minutes.
