I've been struggling with flying inverted circuits (forward flight, nose first) and just not really getting it. So today I tried inverted flight backwards (tail first) and it just clicked. Felt much more natural. I've been afraid to try this as I thought it was much harder. Anyone else go through this?

I learned nose-first inverted fairly easily, just trying to master tail-first inverted now. Guess that means I have an easier time dealing with pitch axis than the roll axis.

Never, ever, ever, ever give up.

'tis because backwards inverted is close to normal nose first, where cyclic is same but everything on left thumb is reversed

You better learn it right the first time. If you don't it will come back to bite you.

The other way around for me. Nose first inverted is pretty easy for me, tail first inverted I can make right turns, but left turns jack me up. Its very hard (tail first inverted) getting used to moving the rudder and the low cyclic the same direction.

Yep, lots more practice needed as always. Thanks for the feedback.

Backwards is easier for me since it is just like forward upright. You bank to the left and put left rudder and pull back when upright. When backwards upside down you bank left and put in left rudder and pull up.

FWD upright and backwards inverted are both sticks same way and pull back.

Fwd upside down and backward right side up both involve sticks together or sticks apart apart and pushing down to turn.

i found what helped me was when its flying tail first you move the sticks the same way... when its noes first you move the stick towards or away from each other... that helped my mind wrap around it until it was nothin

What helped me in inverted forward flying was to bank first with aileron as RonHill says. Then give opposite rudder as needed to bring the tail around. In fact, banking first helps in general with learning turns in new orientations. The part I find strangest with backwards flying is that it banks the opposite direction to what I would expect. With practice I'm getting to expect it!
