Heard that they will be testing the 700 after in Taiwan in about three weeks, The 700 should be out before summer.

Also heard Align is comming out with a Flybarless system about the same time, for around $300.

The first time I seen a flybarless heli fly was this weekend and it was Curtis Youngblood and his Vibe 90.

Thatr heli is so fast on the cyclics that it looked like it was going to break itself it was moving so fast.

ENGAGE!!

More electronics :-(
Personally I am a mechanical kind of guy, with fltbarless means more electronics, more to work on and worry about, I have never had a problem with a flybar and paddle set up and plan on continuing with the standard. Anyone eles have the same view as I?

Nope, I will give anything a go if it makes sense for me. I was against the CarbSmart for the same reasons as you list, until I tried one. I'll never have a Nitro heli without one again...

Flybarless

Here's a couple of reasons...

Less parts to replace ..much Simpler head setup
20-25% MORE power
Faster Cyclis
More pitch available
better handling machine overall...especially in windy conditions
and then the MOST IMPORTANT thing...it looks damn cool

as for complexity...it's no more complex than a standard gyro...

take a look..

As far as a trex 700 is concerned...you can build one right now no prob...Just take a predator boom and TT and install a .91 in your trex 600 and you have a 700...people are already doing it...

I wonder if they said that years ago.

"I don't want no new fangled 'electronic' gyro... I want something mechanical that I can hear running so I know its working"

If we stuck to this theroy then we would not have traveled to space or have all the luxuries of life that the digital age has brought us...oh wait we are using one right now!!!

This is not a flame...just a little humor

As long as the electronics are reliable then it's arguable that you're actually less likely to have things "go wrong" than you would with a physical mechanical system. And when it comes to reliable, I don't have a problem trusting German engineering.

Flybarless is the future of RC helicopters.. As the electronics become more popular, they'll be cheaper!
