I have noticed after a minor crash that the vert stablilizer is vibrating like crazy in flight now. (Bottom part of it) So much so that it looks like it might just wack the tail blades. I've seen this on other birds before. I've tightened down the screws on the tail assembly.
Any ideas what might be causing this vibration? Something in the head?

First thing I would look at is my tail shaft and bearings. Hi freq. vibs are usually caused by either of those. Spin your mains by hand and watch the tail pitch assy. If it oscilates while you are turning the mains you have a bent shaft. Hope this helps.

dynodude is right on the money.....both times I had a tail fin vibration it was the shaft...once from a crash...the other one was when I switched to a metal tail pulley and got a slightly bent one from the factory

I had this same problem after a crash. First try vibe was so bad it was unflyable so I replaced the tail shaft. That got the vibe down to 1/8" so I replaced the bearing on the TR side, now down to a hum (at the bottom of the tail fin). Gonna look at the blade bolts and grip bearings next.

Not sure what the issue was, but it's gone now, I think the main blades were out of balance. Thanks though.
