Gidday all

I have just bought a logo 600 3d and Jazz 55 - 10 - 32 speedie

I will be using FP 10S3700 stick packs for this heli

my delema now is

what motor / pinion do i get

I would like a motor which will not be hard on the packs

and speedie

but

would like something which has more grunt ( 10 to 15 % would be nice )than my trex600 nitro

and decent flight time min 4.30 mins minimum

I do not need BALLS TO WALL POWER

I forgot to add that this logo is the flybar version
cos I am old fashion

usually around 2900 or so depending on how I fly. My flying style is pretty moderate with more big manuevers and smooth 3D.

This is usually including 2 autos at the end as well.

Mate, Russ is the resident Aussie expert on all things L600, he is the man to answer.

I have a Neu 1912H in mine but i run 10s a123 cells (8s lipo volages)

Tabb is very wise but his flying is way to smooth and refined for anything most of what we dream about. He could probably get by with a trex 450 powertrain in his machine. (there are not many as talanted as he i am sure AP/AV have a lot to do with it)

we can never have too many, can we ?

Thanks Oz, but its not that I am a great pilot, I just keep forgetting how to fly 3d after soooo much AP flying

I just picked up a T500 to keep with me at all times to brush up when the sun ever comes out here in Seattle though so hopefully I will remember how to fly inverted soon!

You will love the L600, such a great ship!

Those are impressive flight times, I think I would faint!

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

motor choices...
Actro 24-4
Actro 24-3
Actro 32-3
Tango 45-07
Orbit 30-12

all great choices....I have the 24-3 and the 32-3 in my logo 600 3d vbar setups and they have Excellent power...I think the tango makes less power but is a bit more efficient than the actros ...so you'll get longer flight times..

Any way you turn...you'll be getting about 100% more power than the trex 600 you have..

thanks Jag

i swas going to buy the actro 24-4 ( out of stock everywhere )
I can get the actro 24-3 but what pinion do i need ?

also will my Jazz55 be able to handle the current draw ?

I noticed that u only mention the Tango 45-07 and NOT the 45-08

from my understanding the LOGO 3D kit comes standard with a 13T HB pinion which would be suitable for the tango 45-08

i also considered the ORBIT 30-12 ( not the expert , too high current draw ) with a 16t pinion but can not find one

basically I can get my hands on

actro 24-3
tango 45-08

any help/opinions would me much appreciated

The 24-3 is actually a more powerful motor than the tango and the Actro 24-4

The peak power of the Actro 24-3 is rated at 2700w where as the peak output of the Actro 24-4 is 2600W...and the peak of the 32-3 is 3000watts..

of course these are Actros numbers..

I am flying a 13t HB on my Actro 24-3 and am getting about 2100 at 100% HS...

After speaking with a couple of "pros" I just ordered a 15t pinion for my setup...and I will be governing down to 2350RPMS..which I hear is ideal for this motor and heli setup..

The tango 45-08 is a weak motor for this heli in my opinion...I used to run one on a logo 14 and never really liked it..

the 45-07 seems to make more power...

BTW...you DO NOT get a pinion with the logo 600 3d kits...or any logo kit for that matter...

ESC:::::The Jazz 55 is perfect for the 10s setup...I would just recommend doing the "heatsink" mod...and you'll be fine...I am using jazz 55's in my logo 600 3d vbars and they work great..

here's what the heatsink mod looks like..

I just got my Tango 45-07 in the mail today for my Logo 6003D. We will see how well it does. I think I will be very happy with it considering I fly mild 3D and want longer flight time.

I was using a NEU 1912H/1Y with a 13 tooth pinion. That motor is a beast!!! I think NEU under rates on their watts.

heatsink mod....
The heatsink mod is a piece of cake...just flip it over and cut a bit of the red shrink off the plate and thermal glue or tape a heatsink on it..you can get them at Radio Shack for like 9$

It's a good idea no matter what setup you go with..

If you go with a NEU motor you HAVE to do the heatsink mod...not really necessary for the Actros and Tangos but still a good idea...

BTW...I have a tango 45-07 in my 3dmpe...it makes plenty of 3d power..

hung, 24-3 on a 14T i reckon (maybe dialed down to desired HS or 100% ), dont worry bout the ESC mod just yet if you like, its not like the jazz's just shut down, they slowly spool down on a fault which gives plenty of time to fly back to you and land. There really good for that. I can bring down the heatsink mod to coffs and do it in a few minutes if you think you need it, got plenty of spare heatsinks here.

I'm going to start with a 13 because I have it, but most likely will be using a 14
