Hi all.

Im currently setting up my 600n with my new 12fg. I need your help figuring out how to correctly use the different swash menu options to cancel out my interaction.

First of all, my mechanics is as good as it gets using hitecs with the align servo wheel. These is not ofset on the servos, so no matter hvat hole i use i gotta use the same amount of subtrim to get it right.
Apart from that, as i said mechanics are fine.

The swash is dead on level at center stick aswell as on both top and low end. Dident need to use any electronics to get this, all was fine after setting it up mechananically.

My problem is this. I get some cyclic to collective interaction, the swash moves a mm or so up and down when i move the right stick around. When i do quick and large throws it gets worse than when moving the stick slow.

I also get alot of collective to elevator interaction, the "elevator-blade" (that part of the cycle) moves alot when moving collective. Its just during the motion, and settles in the right position when the motion is over.
Theres alittle of the same around the "aileron" point of the cycle, but not as much.

Ive been fooling aroud whith the different settings in the swash menu, the mixing rates, the linkage compensation and the speed compensation. I cant get it to work right. Im not shure i quite understand the manual fully, and im hoping some of you guys can help me out here.

Thanks¨

kevin

There is a small amount of interaction on the 600N due to the swashplate inner and outer balls not being in line..that may be where its coming from rather than your electronics/servo's

Thanks barney,

I dont know what a small amount is, but when i compare to the stick deflection i need to get the same amount, im thinking this will affect the helis performance alot.

Is there anothes swash worth getting?

If you look over to trex tuning..(just do a search without the space) follow the link to there sister site (50 tuning I think?) there is a review on the Swash and the newer upgraded version (still not 100%)

The Quick UK is the obvious swash of choice... but a little expensive. It is also lighter/thinner allowing more pitch travel and from my previous experiences with there swashes..built to last without developing slop

cheers

Thanks again.

Guess what, i figured something out.
I used the channel assignments in the 12fg manual, and saw when i powered up the radio, that i had to change alot of channel assignments in the funvtions menu.
I knew the fasst group together 3 and 3 channels, but guessed i cold use 4-6 for the swash, as in the manual referring to 3g systems.

I then looked in the 1.3 software update manual, and noticed that the assignments were different from the manual. Tried these, getting swash on channel 1-3, and the problem more or less disappared! Had to use the swash-menu to cancel out some interaction, and im now down to zero, zip, none what so ever.

Ill do alittle bit further fiddeling whith it tomorrow, and mesure
and see, but i think im dead on now.

NICE

One thing i noticed was that to eliminate binding i had to reduce max collective to 46. This was the washout base driver pins in the hub hitting the inner swash at full collective and cyclick deflection. A thinner swash wold take care of this. I migth also just trim off a mm of the pins. Its not more than that it takes.

Anyway,
Thanks alot for the help!

Hi Kevin if its any help with your Pitch travel just alter the links to centre the swash so you get equal travel each side of 0 deg. Both my kits were early examples and the linkage lengths were not quite right..I believe the manual/CD was updated shortly after there release..

cheers Brian

Have you tried mixing-out the interactions between cyclic and collective by using the Linkage Menu, then select SWASH on the second page?
You can then use that 2nd page to mix-out interactions at middle collective position and finally the 3rd page is used to mix-out interactions for High and Low collective positions (move the throttle to max for the High Pitch mix and min position for Low Pitch mix).

Hope we're on the same page.

Hi again and thanks for the nice help.

Ive gotten over this interation thing mainly by getting the right channels assigned for the swash. Then used the swash menu and mixing out whatever was left.

I'll now try and lower the swash neutral point by adjusting the links as you suggest. Im afraid i'll might get some binding at the low end, but i'll give it a try.

Im not shure what kind of pich range i have rigth now, but it might be enough anyway. I like having full potential available tough.

Thanks guys

kevin
