No, my wife hates when I have Helicopters on the table or in the family room. She just does not understand why I "play" with them.

If she dont like it, you can always get another one.

You know, upgrade, perhaps one with more "thrust", a better canopy, and "tighter" tolerances, and of course a better "tail" wouldnt hurt.

My wife got me into the sport. She bought my first and third helis and she takes some great pics. She enjoys coming out to the field to watch and take stills and video.
A pic she took a couple of days ago.

I'm surprised that Mark doesn't close this topic since wife is a four letter word!

Another way to word this topic:
Is your wife cool with how you spend your hard earned money.
It's none of her business. That's one of the many reasons not to get married!!!

here are some others:

How it got in my pajamas I'll never know

It will be fine if you know what a women wants most,,,,,to make up her on mind.

When I tell her I am going to get a new heli she ask what color it is....

When I sneak in a new heli and she ask if it's a new one I just say, no, I just put a diffrent body on it....

I pay all the bills :ie mortgage, water, electricity, gas, internet, foxtel, telephone, house insurance, health insurance, half the food bill, half the daycare for my kids. Whatever i have left of my paycheck goes on my needs, car repayments and car insurace and of course my hobby,(rc heli's). My wife has no right to complain as to what i spend on the hobby as long as the bill are always payed on time.I still get the eyes rolled back when i buy something for my heli, but my wife has to accept that it's my hobby and it's here to stay.

ps. my wife collects captain jack sparrow figurines and they are not cheap. I don't complain to her about what they cost. It's her money, it's her hobby/obsession

Who is fooling who. I know my wife don't tell me everything infact I tell her don't tell me how much you spent then it is never a problem when I order parts or what ever. I guess I am lucky cause it really isn't a problem.

I'm sorry to hear that so many of you don't tell your wife's the truth or don't care what they think or feel. You should treat them the same way want to be treated.
I'm coming up on 26 years with my wife and never have I lied about how much something cost or what I bought.
I guess I have it pretty good not only does she not care but she will run to the LHS and pick up my parts and pay for them. She will also haul them to the field for me and set there all day and not say a word. Now That's A Good Woman!
Now that I think about it maybe I should take her out to dinner and get her some flowers

I'm with you, TaleGunner. Pitiful way to treat your wives. Not only that but you are teaching them to also keep things from you. Do you really want that?

I'll also be 26 years married next month. My wife has always supported me in my many hobbies, just as I have supported her. For my other (current) hobby -- autocross -- she gets up at 5:30am once a month to help tow a club trailer to a site more than an hour away. Then sits there all day in the sun and wind until the club is finished.

I'm supporting her with her current hobby because it's what she really, really wanted. And it came with my own, private 125' x 900' flying field!

My wife's hobby is Raising and Jumping horses And trust me they cost more than my RC addiction. The plus side is 40 acres to fly on and in the winter I can fly indoors in this.

Mine thinks I have about 500 dollars in it. She always tells people "look at his 500 dollar toy" if she only knew.... And I told her I was buying it as UPS was standing with it at the door, not good. But she got over it
People wonder why I pay with USPS money orders
