Hello,
I am finding conflicting information on this. Right here on RR I find statements that it is included with the kits. However, I received a kit w/o it and have been told it has never been included with the kit. What's the real scoop?

Thanks,
John

The new 600 3D kits come with the CB and the metal motor plate. I dont know if the 500 3D comes with the CB.

Well, I just received a 600 3D kit with the metal motor mount but w/o the counterbearing. I have been told they have "NEVER" been included with the kits. Clearly that is false.

Do you have an exact or reasonable definition of "new kits"? I see posts from September with guys saying they got the counterbearing in the kit.

I got mine in December and it had the CB in it. According to Esprit-models, it is standard....Ron

Counterbearing
I have 2 logo 600's and they both came with it....but I also trust what Colin told you John...he has no reason to lie or keep that CB assembly..

I think what he was trying to tell you is that Mikado claims they never made it a "standard" part of the kit but they always just threw them in with the kits..I know when I got my kits the CB assembly was wrapped sperately and even had the little cardboard thing on the top...meaning that it looked like Mikado plucked the CB assembly off the wall and just threw it in the kit..

I'm thinking that Mikado must have decided to exclude that as a freeby with the newest logo 600 kits? which kind of sucks in my opinion..I guess the thing to do is to ask a shop that has one of the newest shipments of logo 600's and see if it's in there...

Colin mentioned to me that the logo 600 kit you have there John was delivered to him on Feb 8th 2008...

Jag72,
This is no longer about Colin, just so you and he knows.

I have an e-mail response from Aero-Model stating that the counterbearing has never been included in the kit. I indicated to them that this is clearly false and plenty of evidence exists to prove it has been included.

Further, they said it is only needed for "cheap motors." That is now four different stories available on the counterbearing.

Thanks,
John

CB assembly
I just had a VERY long talk with Bobby Smith at Esprit...he was EXTREMELY cool and helpful...he opened up a couple of the new logo 600 3d kits and they in fact NO LONGER come with the kits

He called Aeromodels and they told him that they in fact are no longer supplying them as standard parts for the kits...you have to buy them now...Bummer

I had one included in my 600-3d kit. It became unusable within 20 flights. I am not sure how I managed that as I have only heard of one other person that has had one wear out quickly. The Z-power motor that I am using has very little slop in the bearings. I don't use more than 2300watts for my flying and the main gear has been holding up fine so far. (it has been about 15 flights without the CB.)

All right, so we've established that the latest kits do not come with the counterbearing nor will any future kits. It is still a mystery why Aero-Model insists it was never included.

John, when i bought my 600-3d (in australia) i didnt get the counter bearing, i contacted Mikado in germany and they told me the CB was never included in the kits. The US distributor was suppling them at their own cost (and the metal motor mount in the 500-3d's).

So what you have been told is sort of right, they never were included from the factory.

we can never have too many, can we ?
