Sorry. I couldn't resist...

But really, the new washout is a color change, and lighter in weight. And the new motor has a higher speed rating

Hell... I can fix that.

The rumor when it came out was that the new base slightly changed the geometry to correct a phasing error, however, people measuring weren't able to find any difference. If you're looking at buying a new washout, buy the Quick UK one. It has no play at all on the pins and takes the slop out of the assembly. Well worth the money.

But above all, please Hammer, don't hurt 'em.

I don't think it's been out long enough to get any real comparisons... It's only been out about 2 weeks.

It's just a higher speed rating. More pinion gear options

Hell... I can fix that.

I don't believe there is any difference in the washout base, but the new 1700KV motor runs cooler, I notice no difference in power, but right after a 5 minute flight the motor is usually around 150 Degrees

I had a 1650KV XL motor in my last 600E and it ran much hotter than this 1700KV motor

The 1700 runs much cooler than the 1650. It also sucks the batteries. But man can you get some headspeed. We switched from the 1620 to the 1700 and with the same settings we got about another hundred rpm out of the head putting it just around 2300. With stubz paddles, 440mm flybar and 0 expo. This thing comes alive.
