Spent 10 hours today working on the Old Shuttle ZXX, I don't think it took me this long, 10 years ago to build the thing.

It does seem to me that I did pick the best Forum to join, I can't believe how many post and how fast people reply.

Today's duties included cleaning the fuel system, and by the way what was all that green stuff? One trip to the hobby store for new Tran and onboard bats, fuel lines and two-way tape.

Although I thought this project would be completed today, now I'm sure I have a few more days. This, of course doesn't really get me down as I enjoy building as well as being airborn.

Here's a few more questions. And thanks for all the input I got on my last post.

1. After charging the bats. for a few hours I did turn on the Heli to see if the gyro was still working, it did fire up. My question is, the guy at the hobby store said the internal backup bat. would probably come back to life, what do you all (Texan lingo) think?

2. Where can I get parts for this old Hirobo Shuttle ZXX? Are there other heli models that I could use their parts as replacements? My main thoughts are in regards to main blades, boom, flybars and tail blades.

Again, thanks for all the help,

HOPE TO BE AIRBORN IN A WEEK!!

Craig

OZZ58-
Welcome back, IF you need parts I saw a couple of the "old" Hirobo's for sale... Maybe they will give you a good deal on them and you can use it as a stripper for what you need. Graves R/C is located in central Orlando and you can contact them at:
Phone (407)294-5699
Web@ http://www.gravesrc.com
If you can get ahold of Gary, he knows the helis, it would be your best contact! Good luck finding your parts, Hope it helped......

I just got back into Heli's again, I rebuilt my ZXX, it flies nice. I got alot of parts from Rons Heliproz South (Texas), they have red booms for about $4 and some other good deals. MRC has alot of Shuttle parts and Zoom Heli allso. You can post in the Hirobo forum there's still alot of Shuttles around. Check out mine in my gallery, I have a liteweight Align 600N Canopy on it. I'm building a Hirobo RG-M now. Good luck with yours and post some pics in the Hirobo Shuttle forum thread. captb

If it's gonna happen it'll happen up there!

any model shop that deals with hirobo will get the spares you need
the shuttle plus spares will fit and is still available
with the blades any 550mm blade will be ok, if you have the 3mm blade bolts then on the raptor/sceadu blades which have a 4mm blade bolt you just need the sleeve for the blade , some blades have the sleeve with them or you can put he shuutle plus blade holders on that have 4mm blade bolts

if you need a parts list for the later shuttle zts/plus look on
http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk
in the manual section
they also ship world wide if you get stuck for spares

Thanks for all the input,

Seems there are still many part for this old heli out there.

I'm very new to forums as well as this one. Should I post in the Hirobo area? Didn't really see it until now.

Will try to post pictures.....as soon as I learn how to do it.

Thanks all,

Craig
