I am about to maiden my N9 tomorrow, but I still need to setup my Gy611 on my N9. Somehow I always seem to get it wrong with the servo reverse on the 611. What should the radio and the 611 be set to? Norm or Rev?

Not that it matters but the radio is a 12Z.

The servo should be set such that when you move the rudder stick to the right, the trailing edge of the tail blades move to the right and vice/versa.

The gyro should be such that if you move the tail to the right, that the leading edge of the blades go to the left.

On my 14MZ, which should be the same as a 12Z, it should be rudder servo is reversed, and the gyro direction is normal....

It is really not safe to run it unless you can take some time and figure out which way the blade spins, which way the blade deflects on the stick command, which way it blows air, and then which way the tail will move.
Then do it for the gyro action. Turn it on, move the tail, note the gyro reaction, then stop and think that through.

Not all heli's are the same.

Check it on the bench properly.

It is worth taking time on this.

Sometimes it is easier to post a question then research it if you forgot how to do something. I am not new to heli's at all, it has just been some time since I actually worked on or flew anything with this weather. Anyway the ligthbulb went back on as soon as I read Paul's post. All went well with the maiden. Really smooth heli and is just begging to be beat on.
