Bergen Industrial Twin purchased for use as a UAV Platform

Being sold due to our incompatible platform requirements. We just can't use it.

The heli was tested by Bergen prior to shipping in January of 2008, and has since had 1 gallon of break-in fuel (AMS Oil Sabre @ 6oz / gallon Premium Unleaded) through it in hovering. The engine is still in the break in period, but the power is already incredible.

The platform is currently outfitted with:

Bergen / Zenoah 52cc Twin Engine
(3) Futaba S9452's on Cyclic
(1) Futaba GY611 Gyro & S9256 Servo for Tail
(1) Futaba S9550 Throttle Servo
(1) 32oz Forward Reserve fuel tank
(2) 64oz Saddle Fuel Tanks with mounts
Mah 850mm Main Blades
SAB 130mm Tail Blades

The servos can be removed if requested for $400 off the asking price.

Asking price $5500.00 USD

I will upload photos of the helicopter soon.

Duration...
Actually, I have never filled the saddle tanks, except with a bit of overflow from refueling. As stated above, this machine isn't even broken in yet.

But, the 32oz 'reserve' tank gives us at least 30-45 minutes of duration with the large blades.

We made some calculations, and we were hoping to get at least 4 hours, if not up into the 5 hour range. With our smaller (4 lbs) payloads, it is conceivable. But, nothing proves duration like repeatable flights in different conditions and taking the averages.

Believe it or not, the twin is actually quite fuel efficient. We had planned on expanding the saddle tanks even more to 128oz each, in the attempt to get 6 hours. With 6 hours, we could easily cover the 180 miles requested.

Re price; look at Bergen's website. A new industrial twin is $5500, without the saddle tanks, servos, etc. And, I'm still taking reasonable offers!

That was just a comment in reference to flying inverted. I don't see it happening with all that fuel onboard, especially the way the vent lines are run straight down.

I'm sure the heli is capable of doing it, as I think I have seen Mallory fly a twin at IRCHA, but can't be sure.
