They are brand new for $209 from Audacity Models. I just assembled one to go along with my 3 Audacity Pantera's. All very nice kits!

I'll bite, Why not? Before you dive into this, We better be talking about current experience with the current kit. It would be unfair to discuss something from more than a couple years ago that has long since been addressed....or to mention the original Tiger because the Tiger mk2 is significantly upgraded by comparison. So, with all that said, what is your problem with the Tiger Mk2?

Why not
Got my two rebuilt and upgraded after inflight parts failures. Take a look at the tail belt pinion gear sometime under a magnifying glass. Must be pressed onto shaft in warm enviroment. I have had two throw out chunks and tear off belt teeth causing wild horizontal flights as the gyro tries to fight with the tail. Look for hairline spider cracks on the gear radiating out from the steel shaft. Even worse in cold weather.
Buy some new mixing arms and look at how they rub and don't clear the mixing base and one has to dremel off material to get the mixing levers to clear each other.
And I really love the troublesome e-commerce page and still lacking pictures for all the parts. And my favorite, looking at a repair invoice,$9.99, $9.99, #9.99, $9.99, $9.99. Before you know it a new machine is a better choice.

The good, it is only $209.00 new. For very little more you can be flying a , Kinetic 50 if cost is an issue,JR Venture 50, Caliber 5 $269 with muffler and glass blades, Raptor 50, and even a TREX 600N $329.00.

the things I forgot
Oh, one of my flying buddies reminded me of the stuff I forgot as I bartered mine to him to use as his first night flier, and he sold his first TIGER before it bit him.
--------
addendum, OH yeah, you get lots of those as owners find more ways to build it, forward, backward, or find other things that break.

Should have mentioned how the ball links crack just sitting in the box, it's tail heavy, needs slip drive to run tail in autos (more than $9.99), have to have special servo arms (per instruction book), servo bosses wear out and have to use bigger screws,........

Out of all of that you wrote, there is only one thing I agree with. The ball links are junk. Mine too were cracked or cracked during assembly. I have seen none of the other issues. In regards to a non-driven tail, thats how its setup. Thats not a defect, just not a stock feature. In regards to needing special servo arms, that is simply not true. You need a specific length for the ccpm just like any other heli and of course you want something that doesnt flex. None of that is unique to a Tiger. I wouldnt hesitate to buy one again but I already have 4 of Audacities other heli, the Pantera so I think I'm set for a while.

dialarotor, I dont believe this is the place to post your own convictions regarding the tiger or any other heli. As your opinions, they are exactly that, your opinions. Please dont use my post to voice your opinions. This is a WANTED post, not a "what do you think" post.

Now, can we get back to the issue at hand?

jstfish,

I dont know how you could get a Tiger 50 for much less than what they cost new. If you are apprehensive about building one, I'd be happy to assemble it for you, no charge. You could have John at Audacity send it directly to me. I would only charge actual shipping cost to you. I love building these things.
