I recently got my painted canopies for my Logo 500 3D. They are beautiful...painted by Bobby Smith. The logo canopy is pretty light and when I put it on it seems like I'm missing something. Here's a pic. Do you guys hold the ends together or cut them so they don't overlap/touch.

Thanks,
Tom
PS: also should have put s little light fiberglass around the grommet...

Hey -I recently picked one up that was used. They put velcro on there. So when they flap over, the velcro sticks it together. Seems like the way to go. However though, I noticed the first time I took it off, the piece of velcro on one of the flaps peeled off due to the paint. I just need to fix it. Seems like maybe you should sand off the pain in that area before applying the velcro. Now that I think about it, one side would have paint and the othe would not since one of the flaps would be from the inside of the body. So you just need to sand one.

That is a good idea. I'll put small velcro dots on to hold it but not make it crazy to get on/off. Thanks, Tom

I hope you figure out a slick way to make it look good...I never did. I'm the type that likes things "just so", and at first the rear overlap on the canopy bothered me. I was also afraid it might get the wind under/inside it during really fast backward flight, and blow the canopy off.

Let me jump to the conclusion, and skip all the details in between. Just live with it. It won't come off, even during terminal velocity vertical tail slides. You can't see it well enough to matter while flying, and the canopy has to come off immediately after each flight to unplug the battery. So do what I do. Just don't look at it while you carry it to and from the flight line . Take care. Dave.

Is it the original canopy or the fiber glass one?

Canopy...
I have 2 logo 600's...I actually prefer the overlap..

I had one painted at Canopy FX and that has the overlap...the Arizona Heli canopy was cut and it has agap in the middle..

I think the overlap is a cleaner look..

I have a fiberglass one with a gap and the original one with overlap. I'll probably put the velcro dots on for now but may end up cutting/patching the edge for the gap. Regardless...it's a nice looking ship.

Thanks, Tom
