I think you NEED a JR SPCM receiver. You can use other brands of receiver in PPM mode I.E. a futaba PPM receiver and set the tranny to PPM but only JR receivers for SPCM mode. I hope that helps.
For what it is worth I have allways found the SPCM set up very reliable in terms of a radio link

have you sorted the crystals or is it synth. You will need a JR crystal in the JR radio and a Futaba cystal in the futaba rx.

I believe all futaba rx ending with DF are PPM...only those ending with DP are pcm. So a 138df is a PPM. Anyway, PCM is just like 2.4, only rx and tx of the same brand will work together.

Futaba and JR are not compatible, the shift is different between brands. Futaba is negative, JR positive.

it works ok in ppm mode not spcm.so they do work but i don't want ppm on my heli, there are to many moving parts that will cause interference.regards helinelly

My apologies, in the US I would be correct. Elsewhere, I am incorrect.
