I have been flying my 600N for 6 months. I upgraded the gyro from 401/9254 to 611/BLS251 last week. The first 2 flights was normal with no problem. On the third flight I found something wrong. I switch on the battery, waited for 5 seconds and the 611 initiated in HH mode normally. But after a few more seconds the rudder servo suddently run all the way right and I have not touch the heli and the x'meter. I tried to give a full left rudder and the rudder servo goes to left but in a very vibratory manner. When I return the rudder stick to neuture the servo goes vibratory to the full right again. I repeated many time and result is the same. Other controls (aileron, pitch, etc.) were normal. I swiched off the battery and turned on again and everything is normal. Just get nervous if it would happen again in the air. Any advise will be appreciated. Below is my setup.

GY611
BLS251 rudder servo
9255 ccpm servo
Futaba 9C super with 2.4g module
Futaba 617 2.4g receiver
Align 2 in 1 (new version)

611 setting:
Gain: 30%
Rudder Gain: Default 120%/130%
Control Delay I: 10%
Control Delay A: 20%
Gain Tracking: Default 0%
Mode: CMT
FMod: 3D
AVCS Sense: Default 100%
Linkage Limit: 90%, 100%

you bumped the rudder trim tab maybe?

I had that happen on my 611, couldnt figure out what was wrong.
I looked at my radio and saw I had a click of trim on the rudder.

I took out the trim, reinitialized the gyro, never saw that problem again. (so i think its trim related)

the exact same thing happened to a pilot at my club last week, twice. but only when booting up at start up. we seem to think its a binding issue. make sure it binds in the first, place then fly.

Sorry, what is the binding issue? You mean the receiver bind to x'meter? Thanks,

I guess. thats what we thought. we watched it do it. He rebinded it and it came on right, just like you said. it couldn't be the gyro not booting up, could it?

When I switch on the battery I saw the rudder servo moved to the neutral position after about 3 seconds. Then after about 10 seconds the rudder moved to all the way right. Don't know whether it is the boot up issue.

Try setting everything back to zero on the 611 and your ATV on your radio to zero if not done so.

Also try the following.

Rudder Gain: Default 120%/130%
Control Delay I: 10%
Control Delay A: 20%

The I/A should be 0%.

I had a similar issue and had to reset everything back to normal mode. You really only need to change the mode and FMode on the 611. Those are the only settings that really need configurating.

See if that helps

I will set the delay I/A of the 611 to 0% and try this week end. "ATS on the radio to 0" do you mean the ATV to 100%? Thanks,

So is the BLS251 that much better with the 611 then the 9256 servo?

No idea. I bought the 611 with BLS251 in kit. Never use 9256 before. I think the life will be longer as the BLS is brushless. Other may be similar.

I have had that happen with the 611/9256 several times. It always (and only) occurs right after initialization. Power cycling to re-initialize has always solved the problem. My experience is that if it is going to happen it will happen on the initial power-up. As long as it powers up and initializes fine I have never had the problem occur in flight or on the bench.

It's good to know it only happened during power up. I will switch to AVC mode and try. If I move the rudder stick when this problem occur, the rudder servo is moving very chattered. Did you seeing the same think? Thanks,

my 611 setup on 600n
sensor up front on servos 30% gain
travels 115% both ways
Control Delay I (Rudder Stick Operated), Right and Left = 15
Control Delay D (Rudder Stick Returned), Right and Left = 50
3d mode
cmt mode
nothing else changed

you need to setup the gyro in normal mode first, center servo arm and get both sides left and right over 100% not 90% to 100%

turn rudder trim to inh or make sure its centered.
