I'm sure someone has tried it with the CF and GF frame's but I'll ask...

Has anyone put on the metal bearing blocks and metal tail on the CF ?

If so did it cure any problems you had ... Or have you not had any problem's with that setup.

It seem's that the GF version hasent had the static problem's like the CF version has had ... That just seem's the way I've read it in the post's unless I missed seeing the GF having the problems as well...

For the most part, yes. I think one or two GF lockouts have been reported. I'm running GF completely stock (no mods) and have 37 flawless flights so far.

Ok thats good to know.. I was thinking about those ? the other day on the way home from work.

I started thinking the 450's don't seem to have lockout issues (though I see someone posted that they have). I just started to think that maybe the Metal bearing blocks and tail helps out...

I had a GF and tried it once but traded it for a 600N. But I've been thinking of getting another 500 I really like the CF and thought if the metal helps I'll go that route but I'll prob. be running a 6200..

I'm flying the CF with plastic bearing blocks and tail with none, zero, zilch static issues. 54 flights on it so far. 6200 Rx. Lubed the belt from the beginning, even before the the static paranoia.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Portable piezo-electric anti-static pulsing ion-discharge gun. No battery, and similar life span as a commercial barbeque igniter. The piezo element is cheap and easy to replace. Effective range of 0.85 inch. Duration of the ionizing effect for the elimination of static: 8 to 10 hours for almost all materials.

there has already been a fix to the static ussues. You just ground your tail case to your tail boom and then the tail boom to the front tail belt shaft.

I use triflow.

So you guys know, nothing is immune to discharges in the 1000's of volts.

Just lube the belt before flying and youll be good for the rest of the day. I figure 2mins of your effort is better than hours of down time due to a glitch related crash.

I have.... wait scratch that... HAD a t-rex 500 with the metal tail, and metal bearing blocks and still had lockout. I switched out my ar7000 for the 6100e, and i had a catastrophic lock out. Heli crashed so hard my whole ship went up in flames for my evo25 2170 6s setup. So i can personally say.. those upgrades don't help.

Graphit33 is the best, it is made for this. Schulze contracted this manufacturer to make a specific spray that you spray onto a rag, wipe on while spinning belt, dries nicely and quick, will not decay belt in any way, lasts forever, 100% eliminates any and all belt static period.

The metal main bearing blocks will do nothing for static. The metal tail alone will do nothing for static. The boom has to be sanded where the metal tail mounts. You have to ground the frame to the neg of the ESC. You have to ground front pulley shaft and the boom to the frame. Grounding also does not mean just connecting a wire to it. You have to verify that you have continuity, otherwise its not grounded.

Takes about 30 minutes max to do it but for those that cant or do not want to, a silicone spray or graphite 33 is the best route.
