I recently got a 600N and have setup the swash with +/-14 degrees collective and 9 degrees of cyclic. The response to either collective or cyclic input is awesome but when doing tight piroflips, the heli makes a horrible noise. Why might this be ? The links also seem to have got really loose and the main shaft feels rough/wobbly when rotating it by hand without the head. Also noticed that if i bring it into a close hover a foot or so from me, I can also hear a raspy sound. It's only had 3 crashes so I'm sure the bearings are still OK although one of the bearing seals has gone missing from a blade grip bearing so I'm a bit worried this will let the rest of the balls fall out.
Any ideas why the heli feels rough?

If you think it sounds rough and the bearing are questionable, they are probably shot. I would definately change all of them especially after 3 crashes. hell, they are cheap enough. Keep it easy, start there and then troubleshoot the hard stuff.

well at +14 -14 and 9 cyclic you know that there is extreme binding issues at work doing a tight any thing. raise your collective to the top and tilt rear and left, see if it hits any where. the links are probubly stretching and squishing at the same time. sounds like the bearings are wearing fast under that strain.

Usually the bearings are toast after the first crash.. Especially if the blades break. Those bearings hold up ok if they don't get whacked. If you are getting that type noise, you probably have something mis-aligned.

this has got to be a joke! you cant tell me you know how to achieve +/-14 on a trex without knowing why it does anything wrong, much less not knowing the bearings are toast.

You listed so many things in that post that could be the cause, it's hard to know where to start. Change all bad bearings and links, then see what it sounds like.
+14 -14 and 9
Yeah, I think you could have some binding going on....

i wonder if he's using the new batteries from the UK? you know the ones that you only have to charge once, and you can never dispose of them, and are mostly used for night flying, because of the glow? lol

Whadda ya think? Future Darwin award winner?? Just playing, you should never ever hover a helicopter that close to yourself.

If you ever suspect a part it should be the 1st thing you replace, trust your gut, most of the time it's right.

And change your dang bearings and links....

This hobby is like Kryptonite to chicks!

Problems have all gone away. Today, the collective stick on my Tx snapped off at full pitch. I hadn't programmed throttle hold so the heli just flew off somewhere out of sight

I don't know where it went. Lost sight after a few seconds as it dissappeared over a forest next to the field. Didn't hear it crash because the engine sound got fainter and fainter untill it couldn't be heard any more. Serves me right for being crap at building and flying helis.
