I've been reading threw the forums, but still haven't came up with any real comparisons of what I'm looking for. I've recently got a new 450SE, and need a servo for the tail rotor. I know the 9650 has been the hands down undisputed servo for this application, but I'm now wondering if that is the case.

Anyone have any suggestions on which servo to order?

Thanks lots,
Carlyle

Futaba S9257... I really like it. It can handle everything I am able to do with my heli. The tail is always rock solid and has same feeling as T-Rex 600 tail -> very good.

I've used both the 9650 and 9257. The 9257 performs better for me on any of these gyros...401, 7703D, or 2100T. For roughly the same price if I were buying over again for the tail servo it'd be the 9257

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Cool bro!

Dont forget the stepdown as it is not rated to the 6V's that the V2 ESC BEC puts out.
Speed: 0.08 sec/60 at 4.8V
Torque: 2.0kg-cm at 4.8V
(27.8 oz.-in. at 4.8V)
Size: 35.5 x 15.0 x 28.6 mm
(1.40 x 0.59 x 1.13 in.)
Weight: 26g (0.92 oz.)
Good luck!
