I can't comment on the 13 tooth other than the instructions say NOT to run wood blades with the 13 tooth on the 3700 kv motor. I have seen the woodies warp to almost self destruction on a 13 tooth on a 450 sa, which is a lower kv motor doing hard 3D. I run the 13 tooth with carbon blades at 100% with the 3700kv motor on the v2 with no problems though. If it were me, I would error on the safer side and run the 12T pinion with wood blades, but that is just my opinion.

430xl with a 13t at 100% will give you around 3200 RPM. I know a few guys that run that on woodies with no problems.

I'll take your word on the RPM (I've never calculated it), but that's what I am running, and quite a few guys at the club as well with no issues whatsoever. I think the safe RPM on the packaging of the woodies say 2800 RPM max, so from a safety standpoint (as per the mfg.) don't run them faster than that although many do.

I have just finished assembling a 450SE V2 with the white CF, "Align" logo blades (otherwise know as the "3K" blades I believe?) and, oddly enough, the blade packaging came with the same 2800RPM warning.

Either they came mis-labeled or those warnings are written by lawyers, for lawyers, not to be taken too literally from a technical point of view. I'd personally heed the conservative 2800RPM limit for the woodies though, and I'm not a lawyer.

For the record, my V2 came with two identical 13-tooth pinions instead of the usual 12T/13T so I'd also consider mis-labeled blade packaging (as in the 2800RPM limit for the CF blades I received) as a real possibility.

not saying you will be fine if you run the align prowoodie blades over 3k but at 3100 rpm they produce 86,lbs of force and the blades will hold roughly 213,lbs. with that said you have to take into account the longer you fly with them the weaker they will get and if you file the blade grips down to instal them will lower it a hair as well.

when i run 3k or above i use a little common sense and hit idle up when the heli is a decent clip away from me. not eye level 5 feet away.

You do not need 3400 rpm. 2800-3000 Is really all you should need. 3400 is a crazy head speed. At least thats what I was told.

3400 will eventually self destruct the blades and if you have ever seen what a heli does when it throws a bade in flight you will take the others advice and slow it down or get carbon blades

Good Luck

I used to run 3400 RPM and i ran 3700 For a while. ON CARBONS! i would never run more then 3200 or stock XL with 13T on Woodies. That would be irresponsible.
