Ok, I am new to helicopters, but not RC in general. I have properly inspected everything before my first couple flights and this is the problem I have noticed and while flying have adapted to.

When I push the right stick straight forward, the main blades tilt forward and to the left, and when I pull straight back, the blades tilt back and to the right.

I don't understand why this is happening, if it is normal or not. I don't think it is. I t looks like the everything is square and properly setup when not running, so I don't know what to think.

First thing I would check is to make sure you have no "Mixing" progams working.. Default them till you get your game on. Next I would look to make sure that your truly pulling the stick in the directions you indicated... Helo's are unforgiving and don't allow much "off center" movement before you see deflection of swash plate. Other than that I would look for linkage binding and also make sure that you have NO CCPM mixing involved as mentioned above... Check it out and let us know..

What radio are you using? Do you have any mixing on in the radio? What helicopter are you flying? ccpm? swash type?

And no, it isnt normal for that to be happening, but to help, some more info will be needed to try and help narrow down your problem.

confusion
JPetak015,
How bout a little more information.
What heli and what radio.
You could have some mixing going on or some servos may need reversing
or you may not have selected the correct swashplate setup in the radio.
Regards

Ok, sorry about that, I am flying a Falcon 3d with the stock radio on its "normal mode".

I have not checked for binding since, but when i was checking the servos, I didn't see anything obvious. I will check that as soon as I can, just a quick question though, what would binding look like if it is not an obvious malfunction?

It sounds like the heli has a phasing ring that's adjusted incorrectly .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

ok, i was able to get the paddles to track correctly by turning the swash plate around and using the knob that is at an angle for the left/right servo. Unfortunately, the main blades are still tracking the same. forward and to the left and backward and to the right.
I don't know what a phasing ring is and my manual does not name their parts normally, for example, the swash plate is called the "inclined tray". I checked all my linkages and they are all fine with no binding.

Is this one of the inexpensive RTF falcons from hobby lobby ? If so my bud bought 2 of them and one had a bad servo right out of the box.
it was moving but not nearly as far as the other side it was the left side servo and becouse of this going forward also tilted to left and going rearward tilted right.
Anyhow check servo throw and if its not the sam it can cause this.
Good Luck

Don't have the stock setup any more, but as I recall....
Is the Stock Radio like this one? If so, what are the positions of the dip switches on the front?
Should be UP - DN - DN - UP - UP

Yea, the remote does look like that. However, I think that TaleGunner may have nailed down the problem, because it is one of the helicopters offered on hobby lobby and I bought it through eBay.

I have a good eye for mechanical things, and a bad servo is something that I don't have the experience to spot on a helicopter. Everything else though looks like it works as it should, so when I have the spare cash, I shall invest in some new servos and eventually a new radio.

Thank you very much for the help everyone, I am glad that someone with experience with this particular problem was able to respond.

plugged in right
Try checking if you got your servoes plugged in to the receiver right. A better radio would narrow it down some (servo momitor).
