Olympus E-500 set to Auto. on Sports,, Hanson Pro260, Broadcast 360 mount with the Mark IV gimble. No blurr ever,, But I did set everthing up for video, so the heli and mount were allready tuned for smoothness,, Hope this helps..

The last pic was taken in about 25mph wind,,,

Canon A640 with wide angle lens for T-Rex 600 and GSR260. Casio Exilim Z850 on T-Rex 450.

Nose mounts on 600 and 450 and Pro1 for GSR.

These were taken with the Casio Z850

We tested tons of camera's and have probably 30 here. Best I have found for large prints crystal clear, Sony R1 and the Cannon A650 or A640 for a cheaper one. They maybe cheaper but they work extremely good.

On a budget look for a used Sony V1 or Sony V3. Both shoot killer photo's and are still used by some of my pilots here. I still use the V3 when we have to fly in bad conditions.

You can probably guess what I fly and do. For video I still have to stay with the Sony HC-1 first then the Panasonic GS400 second. I know there are newer models but these I think work the best with great results.

Hope some of this helps.

yep... those are two of my favorite cameras. I've had them both and I always have to fall back on how good those were.

Good choices.

is the canon A650 the new version of the A640

About the sony R1 can it display a real time view through the A/V output to my downlink, so I can see the shot before I take it?

What about the G9 compared with the cameras that you talked about? On Heli we use a Robbe millenium III with a webra 150HI GAS engine with a photohigher cameramount! We are now in the process of choosing a new camera!

I have been using a Canon A630 and it works great. I just got a good deal on a Canon A640 and going to do the shutter mod on it. Can't decide if I should buy the wide angle lens for it or not.

I don't know what I'd do without mine. I use it about 90% of every shoot. If y ou get one get the Canon one designed for the camera and not some Chinese crap. There is a difference in sharpness and CA
What about the G9
It doesn't really offer much more than a 640 or 650 in terms of image quality and it weighs more. It has some other features that are useful for ground based shooting but for AP I see no real advantage.

I have several gassers for A/P, 1 converted electric Raptor swinging 690's but my work horse is also the cheapest of the bunch. A regular stretched Raptor 50 with 690's and a basic HCS mount.
I have several high end cameras but once again, I get the best results from a old Canon Pro 1. It shoots in RAW, nice quality, very durable, see for yourself, check out my gallery.
What is even better is they are available on E-bay for around $300 used.

I use the Sony DSC-H3. I am able to get awesome panoramas with mine. Just hold the shutter and it will keep clicking till you let go. With a 4mb card I can shoot 1274 full resolution photos or 58:00 minutes of 1080i HD.
