I am new and just got my first helicopter. It is a Blade 400 and first time up I am buying parts. Didn't look bad just blades and a tail boom brace but got new parts on ready to fly and my main shaft is bent. Oh well I guess I can enjoy taking the whole thing apart. Get out and fly.

It is my first so I don't have anything to compare it too. But I like it so far. I crashed on my first flight but now have it back together and ready to go. So being a newby I thought it was easy to work on.

It's not a bad helicopter, not quite a trex, but for the price, its a fairly decent heli. Needs a few upgrades, like dampners for instance

Hello onesamus
Welcome to the "dark side"!!!!!!!!

Are you using a sim???? And how about training gear???? If not, I hope you stocked up on some extra parts.... not being a smart a**

I flew a blade 400 a couple of weeks ago and for the money that you are paying for everything to come out of one box ready to go, it is a pretty descent flying little heli..... and as things get broke there are some things that can be changed, but right out of the box it is not a bad flying heli at all...

Good Luck with it!!!!!!!!!!! Stan

Welcome to the machine. Is there anyone here who didn't crash on their first flight attempt? I know I sure did. And then on my second, third etc... One day after much hard work it will click and you'll be addicted for life. Good luck.

I do recommend getting a sim. It will help.

I was lucky enough to have lots of help. I was on training wheels to solo hover to trainer cord forward flight and so on. I went for quite some time without a crash. I'm quite greatful to have had so much help in the beginning as it has had to have saved me more money than I could imagine.

Thanks
Thanks everyone for your remarks and making me feel welcome. I do have a sim, not a gook one but it has helped me a lot. I don't have any training gear. That would probably be a good idea. When I got new blades I did upgrade to carbon but I have not flown again yet. A little timid I think. Have a good weekend everyone and get out and fly.

I just did a blade 400 review on my Pod Cast (Just RC Helicopters) nice little heli. The stock servos are junk though, a lot of people are changing them out with DSP75 by Spectrum, any way good choice for a starter heli.
