I keep reading of people testing the TT53 on their raptor50s with 15_+ degrees of collective without details on what they modified to get that range without binding the head.

It does not sound like a stock R50 with metal TT upgrades.

Anyone care to elaborate?

If you are lazy to do any mod, you could just fix on a pair of g-force or kasama mixing level arm. Other than the tt flybar cage, the rest of the metal upgrades from TT will work with them.

I take it this is NORTHENLIGHTS mod with the R90 mixers. But why does the pivot on the mixer is not lined up with the nut (used as a spacer I guess) behind it on the flybar carrier. Is the carrier redrilled?
Can you use the bearings from the R50 mixers on these R90 mixers?

I dont know too many guys that use that kinda pitch range.You start bogging at 13 dont ya? 15* Too much for me!

That is the beauty of having a proportional stick. The hight pitch is only used momentarily for sudden stops and popping in climb bursts. If you watch Jared or Colin with their R50s, JK with the T-Rex 600 or Nick Maxwell flying the Razor, they all hit really hight collective angles and you never hear the rotor bog down. You would swear that their engine have unlimited power, but that is not it.

It is all about collective management. One of the biggest skills the top pilots master. I am by no means a top pilot, but practice collective management enough to have my friends think my Raptor50 is on steriods. Well, a perfectly tuned engine helps...
