When you say go with Radix or SAB you mean day blades, yes? I know SAB makes night blades but there are not visible at all. I am not aware of any Radix night blades...

Yes, correct, I'm talking about the nonlighted versions. You are correct the SAB's are hard to see. I've seen some Radix blades that someone modified with LED's and circuit board tape, not sure if it's being done commercialy or not.

For night blades I've found the selection of 600's to be a bit limited. MS, Align and Rotortech. The MS and Align are in about the same price range and I think they fly very similar, the rotortechs are pretty nice but they cost a bit more. I haven't flown them but I hear they fly very well.

So you have seen the K&S and they are that much more dimmer than the MS?
Yes, I've seen both. The MS Composite are awesome to see. The charger is sold separately.

Guys have been making Do-It-Yourself night blades with Radix or any other blades out there, and they are working very well. The externally mounted LED lights are insanely bright, and have more color choices.

I've seen the 700s Rotortechs in action and they definitely rock.

On the other hand I once saw what I think were prototypes and the colours kept changing on the LEDs and they would blink on the wildest patterns possible... Very distracting...

Thanks for all your input.

Sam2b,

thanks for the info. For me it would be easier to purchase the K&B. Are they acceptable, at least?

Pic
Here's a pic of the Align night blades. They are very bright, the green on the bottom is closer to the tip.

Well, you'll have to decide. Here is a picture of a heli with the K&B tail blades. They are dull to the eye. You can see how the LED's stand out MUCH brighter. The MS Composite tail blades will stand out just as bright as the main blades, if not brighter.

Did the main night MS blades suffer more changes than just the replacement of the batteries? I ask because I used to fly them and they were a POS: dynamically unbalanced, would flutter terribly. Guys at my club had head links blown off in flight by them.

I would think it may be a matter of hit and miss and you just got lucky...

Ms Night blades
I don't know...I must be very lucky then...I have 4 sets of MS Carbon night blades and they ALL work great...no balance/tracking or fluttering issues?

I only have 1setof the new lipo ones...the other 3 sets are the older 1 color blades...and they all work great as well..but I have never tried any other night blades so I can't speak for any other brands..

I have maybe 50 flights on them so far and ZERO issues...after what I heard about the Align blades blowing apart in mid air I vowed NEVER to buy a set of Align blades...regardless of what they did to fix the issue...but that's just me..

Oh shoot! No MS and no Align... I think I am going to have to stick to Rotortechs after all. Damn.

night blades
yeah...not a whole lot of choices...there are a couple of guys here who can make you some night blades out of regular carbons..

just search around and you'll find them..

I was going to go that route but these MS seem to be good enough for me...

Did you try DEETEE enterprises? The website shows them in stock for the Align blades. Didn't check for MS blades though.

My MS blades weren't spot on balanced like my Rotortechs but they were a lot better than all the Thunder Tiger blades I've had, they also track perfectly. I do have the newer ones. IMO MS blades quality is right on par w/ their price.

I had 2 sets on Algin carbon blades (1 were night blades) on my 450 which weren't suppose to have problems like the 600mm blades, both set delaminated and so the could fold in the center and struck the tail boom, the night blades stayed in one piece so you couldn't even tell anything was wrong w/o taking a close look. I'm now using some no name night blades on the 450 I got from CNChelicopter that look like unpainted Align blades the cost a lot less and work great.
