The only vibe I saw in action at IRCHA had some sort of mishap in the air.

The display model looked awsome in the booth.

Does anyone know what happend to that vibe at IRCHA?

First they had a demo with 7 vibes flying at once, that was very cool. They they had the designer come out to fly and it tore apart about a minute into the flight. It looked bad. I never found out what happened. I felt bad for the guy.

I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

Going back to the posters's question: Which one?

"There is no spoon" and by the same analogy, there are no Vibes, not one you can buy today. The Vibe 50 is been released since last November or earlier according to Horizon website. Who knows, by the time it comes out, they will be real dinasours.

Get a T-Rex, be a sheep. I would get a Knight 50, or even a Raptor Titan 50 if you still on the newbie side. my 2 cents.

I should get my Vibe 50 from Motors & Rotors on Thursday or Friday.
I've had a T-Rex 600 and the vibe looks sleeker.

Trex flys very well, Vibe 50 from what I've seen flys very well. You already own a trex can you justify replacing it for a possible improvement in performance, which unless you’re an expert you probably will not even notice.
I watched a sponsered pilot put one through it’s paces at a flyin, I’m convinced he could have picked up my TX and flown my heli just the same.
As far as wear on the trex, there isn’t that many parts that wear and it’s easy and cheap to maintain.
I personally think quality ( not just a particular fault in a part )is a funny thing to mention when talking about helis because the chances are Aling and JR don’t make there own bearings or even machine there own heads. To think that they would buy more expensive and high quality items to go in there kits, YOUR DREAMING. Even if they tell you they put the customer first, THEY DON’T REALLY YOU KNOW. So you can’t say it’s better quality until it’s released and flown for a while. I currently own a trex, but I use a lot of JR electric’s because they don’t let me down, but neither did the GWS cheap suff when I used to fly fixed wing.

I was told about the Vibe 50 last April. At the time Horizon's site said "mid-summer" it changed in July or August to "September" and has been steadily moved back ever since.

So until you see it for sale I would take the "available ....." date with a grain of salt and not hold off on a purchase or you may be waiting a while. (or not, you never know)

I don't see a reason to move from the 600N to a vibe if you already have one unless you're a freak like me

I agree with Bond007, and if you already own a 50 then get a 90.

Curtis has a 600N? Isn't he sponsored by JR? That would be a big no no...

Besides. If he really has a 600N (oficially or not), why still pursue the 8.7 ratio? Either they know something we don't or they want to run it with 620mm blades. Curtis doesn't sell the 620mm size so whats the point?

Every time a new Heli hit the market CY Enterprise buy the new Heli just to verify al their equipments such a Solid G, ATG Gov, blades ets….fit perfectly on the heli that’s the only reason.

And yes, he only bought the 600N for that reason; he fly’s for JR and for me!! Because that 600N has my super mega 3DX fan sponsored by me!!

He flies the 600n because it is so cheap to repair when trying out new product!

Actually, you would think that anyone who is helping in the design or construction of a competative product would try out the competition first. Do you think that any of the half ton truck manufacturers design a new truck without going out and buying the competitors trucks first?

That being said I really do not know if Curtis has any say in the Vibe 50 or not, I asked him about this at the Mt. Pleasant fun fly last fall where he had an early model Vibe 50 and he indicated that JR would send him a helicopter to fly and see what he thought, they do not ask for many opinions in the design process. He may give them a few suggestions for tweaking it a bit, but he is not treated like Jason Krause was by Align during the development process of the 600n. I would imagine that the whole "weight loss program" that JR implemented on the Vibe after the Alpha testors were flying came about due to people like Curtis flying both the 600n and the Vibe, and then going back to JR and saying "she flies great fella's, but she's a little thick in the thighs, if you want to compete with the A-team then she is going to have to shed a few." and they can say this because they have a bit of experience tossing the A-team around.

I do not proclaim to know all of this for a fact, but I DO know for a fact that Curtis said that they basically designed the whole thing and just ship it to him for a shake down and opinion. It woul dbe much better to know the competition before you not only give your opinion, but your stamp of approval as well.

Maybe you folks are right.

I want to believe JR took some advice from their factory pilots at least.
