Hi to all scalers,
I have just completed my Hirobo SuperCobra and was going to give it the first nervous start-up, but my Prolux 12v starter has alot of problems turning over the 90 size engine . I will need to upgrade to a new starter that will handle the compression of the 90 size donk.
What would be the best starter to use?

Thanks

i had a simliar problem on my Xcell,
i found there was not enough energy in usual starter.

I went to the Sullivan Dynatron high torq starter, never had any engine locks after that....

Same as, my 90's would not turn over with a normal 12v starter so went over to a Sullivan Dynatron 24v high torq starter running at 20V via a couple of car battery packs clamped to it. This has my vote and never let me down. I purchased the Minature Aircraft battery plate for this starter which was made to fit.

Last time when I fly Raptor 50, I use a portable/cordless drill from "Black and Decker". I believe it has more torque than normal starter.

If your heli has the one way bearing in the heli (like in raptor) rather than the starter itself, maybe u can try that.
