Droid,

Selling for less on a main ticket item is a marketing strategy. While you're buying the main item for a little less you are likley to buy all your other items from the same dealer as well. The smaller items will not typically be at a reduced price. It's a fairly common concept.
Yes a common concept agreed, but normally on crap you can't get rid of........hang on i see where you are coming from now!!

Anyone got one together yet? If so, how much does it really weigh? The 7.8-8.25 lbs. listed in the manual does seem a bit heavy. Is that including fuel perhaps??? Oink, oink, oink!

I stopped in a Hobbytown today and they said it is scheduled for the 12th but told not to hold my breath. Very doubtful. I'm going to wait for some reviews on this one before taking the plunge.

I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

I stopped believing reviews a long time along since I read one about the "wonderful and docile flight characteristics of a Hornet X3D"... stable as a gasser... yep, definately

Anyway, I believe that performance is subjective to what one wants. Eventhough I love the "pop" feel of my 600N, I removed my superstubz because they made the bird too "nervous" on cyclic for a smooth tracking circuit. I lost some cyclic speed but I got used to it in a couple of flights. I'm very happy with its performance and for me it still flies like bats from hell but with a more locked in feeling.

Inkspot on the other hand, found the superstubz to be "too slow" and ended up moving to a flybarless setup to give him the feel he was looking for.

Agility is a relative term....

Tony

PS - I'll let ya know how mine flies if I manage to build it during next week

Is it possible that this thread can go back on topic now?? We had over a thousand posts on when it was going to be released, now someone started a setup Topic and everyone is bitching because they have all sold out.

ok, sorry.

I'm continously posting on both topics so I get confused sometimes.

Anyway BACK TO TOPIC.

Besides the obvious electronic stuff I already mentioned, I'm having a couple ideas about the blades and ratios because, honestly, the screaming death sound I've been seeing in the very few videos that are online already doesn't appeal to me very much (and I'm sure my YS is already hiding somewhere just thinking about what it will be going through)

So here are my planned experiences for March:

stock 8.7 and radix 600mm governed to 2000rpm (17400 at engine)
stock 8.7 and friends 620mm sab governed to 1954rpm (17000 at engine)
8.5 ratio and radix 600mm governed to 2000rpm (17000 at engine)

One of those 3 options will satisfy me for sure. The one I like the most is the one I'll keep

Tony

Will there be a choice of gear ratio? I see you mentioned 8:5 and 8:7 Tchavei.
