So on my checkride I lined up the for my engine out landing with a strip of grass parallel to some high voltage power lines! Plus as I got closer I realized it was pretty far from flat! I still passed as I did the procedures right. I was worried though a bit. The other funny thing was my examiner was a little on the heavy side. I'm pretty sure the weight she gave was "inaccurate" for the weight and balance calculations. We had about a solid 400 fpm climb lol. It seemed to take AGES to get that 700' to turn crosswind.

Good luck finishing your checkride! I hope you can afford to fly after you get your license! If I didn't fly helis I would probably be flying a bit more thats for sure.

Dude, at our altitude, we are praying for a 400' climbout : ) lol So my checkflight was cancelled because the checkpilot had a meeting to attend, and so it will be on for Sunday of course as long as the winds are decent...today, we had vrb@5 so it would have been an awesome day for the checkride....my luck : )

Yea, I see you know everything but can see why kids love cinnamon toast crunch????

I have always thought that the day I soloed was the biggest accomplishment in aviation I ever had. That was until I was able to sign someone elses logbook so they could take the big step. What a wonderful feeling to be able to share the knowledge that I was so eager to learn. Well after signing 27 or so logbooks for solo it still gets me in the heart to watch them taxi in with all the excitement in the world.

The day they pass their checkride is equally as rewarding but not as exciting for the instructor as a day standing beside the runway watching all of your patience and instruction pay off. I miss it. Congratulations on your accomplishment I know those who are closest to you are very proud.

Congrats and welcome to the club.

Was sharing instrument time last night and got painted by 2 F-16's.

They went by waving.

Keep up the good work.

Jason

Wait..what!?!?! No, that can't be!
