i'm sorry not thinking clearly, but thats what i meant, see if you charge 1.5 amps on both ports which is 3 amps total it seems the charger over charges the battery,so if you back down the amps it works better

First, thats nonsense, thats not how CC/CV works and of course this charger can't handle cc/cv, once of the first problems. Second, charging my batteries at 1C causes a problem. Should we expect to take 6 months to charge a battery?

Further clarification
The test results posted above were done with ONE battery being charged at 1 Amp. The reason I did the tests myself was to not take at face value anything anyone else may have found or said. Unfortunately, it turns out my particular unit behaves exactly like the one belonging to Robl45, which would seem to confirm the fact it's a design problem and not a "faulty" unit which should be sent in for warranty work.

I'm glad it works for Lugnutz. Ignorance is bliss. No offense meant with that last statement, by the way, it's just true in general. Incidentally, I don't take offense to the statement implying I am part of the few people who don't know what they're doing, because I clearly didn't when I bought my Super Brain 977

Major blunder repaired
I've officially forgiven myself for having brought that 977. My new FMA Direct Cellpro 4S is on its way

The way I look at it, it's not a total loss: I will be using the power supply from the 977 to power the Cellpro. Of course, a Radio-Shack unit would have been better at 40% of the cost, especially since the MRC unit puts out 13.6 volts instead of 12 like it's says it should. 'Good thing my chargers accept voltages up to 15

I don't know about the 989, but it's easy enough to hook up a voltmeter to check to see what the charger is putting out towards the end of a LiPo charging cycle.

Good luck,

Gigi

atually, the higher voltage is better because you will need less amps. powersupply is definately the best part of the 977.
