Cross brace for carbon tail supports
Does anyone know of a clamp style cross brace (like the Trex450 cross brace below) or mod for the Trex600N?

the 2 boom supports sometime vibrates causing the gyro to go nuts, bracing it will calm things down

Ive never seen it, I think its just over kill. Pretty soon there will be a brace to hold that brace and then a brace to hold the other brace, lol! Then your helicopter will be 200lbs and wont even fly! Haha oh well hope it works for yas.

I've noticed the tail supports go a little nuts at certain frequencies, a cross support will dampen the vibrations.

The one at granrc looks perfect, cheers

also if you ever loose a screw from one of the boom supports you wont have a support go thru the blades if it happens inverted, this will prevent that.....

something to think about dont you think......

I have mine fixed up like drdot explained. Light weight, easy, free, works great!

Originally had one of the ksj units but took it off in favor of this setup.

i believe they are meant more to prevent the supports from buckling, being that they are so long. to have such long rods supporting rather huge loads, its very easy to get them to buckle, rendering them useless at that point.

in some moves, you would be surprised how much force that boom is exerting on the supports.

on my old Vigor, i was constantly snapping the bolts off that held on my supports. i had to make some mods like larger bolts just so i could do a tick-tock without my supports snapping off.

but this in turn is supposed to make the boom more rigid if you will, and some people report being able to bump up the gyro gain a tad after adding the supports.

the supports on the 600 helicopters are very very narrow, and would not take a lot to bend them, esspeically if they are not perfectly straight to begin with.

I like that kingair. Can I borrow the idea if mine breaks?

Simple and effective. Nice.

Just flew with the new tail brace mod, BTW I used a section of torque tube from an old bent one.

OMG it adds so much rigidity for next to no extra weight, also the tail had slightly less vibrations (tail was otherwise totally fine but now its glassy smooth).

A definate mod for the Trex600N IMO

Hey, somebody stole my idea . Works great and it cheap.

I too like to have a cross support after I crashed once when one of the supports came loose and went into the blades.

Your mileage my vary.
