Rx Battery selection
Ok, I have been away from flying my R50 for about 18 months and I want a new Rx batter. I was running simple 1800 nimh batter. Is there a better choice out there now days?

R50, all digital servos.

A simple NiMH pack does still work The current breed of 4100mAh packs offers a good number of flights, with low internal resistance and with the correct type of cabling and connectors gives consistant performance from your servos.

Haven't tried the Align 2 in 1 but many report very favourably.
Arizona reg and Peerless LiIons is my preffered setup, while the Duralite system does a great job although it needs modification to the type of wiring and connectors used to get the best out of it.

So if I am reading correct, if I get the align one, I need to get the step down for the tail servo correct?

You only need a step down for the tail servo if it isn't specified to operate at the higher voltage supplied for everything else.Vegetable rights and Peace

get the 2in1 with align 1900mah lipoly pack and the stepdown for the tail, they work great and it even glows the plug for you so you dont need a igniter anymore, but will need a lipo charger to charge the battery......

align 2in1 combo

this stepdown is for the tail
