Headed out to the field this morning ready to launch the new beast into the air. I took the turn to the field and WAM stuck in the snow.
Paul S. Showed up and tried to get me out with no joy. He got stuck too! We managed to get him out and I had to call a tow truck. The truck got stuck for a few moments as well. Once I got out we went plan "B". The local school for the test hop. ARRRRG. My starter smoked trying to fire up the 90. Oh well, new starter on order and we will try again next week.
Thanks for all you help Paul S.

Bill,
Sorry to see your test hop did not go so well. I got my Evo home tonight. Now I need to order some goodies for it. I may sell one of my 600n's to fund some of the stuff I need. Both of my 600's are like new, never crashed and not much time on them. I will have the evo up by spring if not sooner. Could not pass up the deal. Plus a bunch of small spares.... He even threw in three extra canopy's. One extra fiberglass and two plastic.....

Snow and burned up starter aside, we had a good day of BSing...

Perry, I"ve got an engine and pipe for your .90 if you're interested.

Sometimes the best day of flying is not flying and BSing.
Cant' wait to see your new ship Perry. If you would like to part with one of your milk bottle canopys. Let me know.

Paul,
Thanks for the offer. I kept my new 90cspec and mpII when I sold my predator. Just ordered the servo's for it today. Now I just need to think about a new 770 gyro. I may just use my 500t that I have laying in a box... They have allways worked well.. Never an issue... I need to build my new 600e first. I am also selling one of my 600n sports I think.......

From what I understand. Yes you can get a mod to convert the EVO90 to CCPM.

Geez, I used to run my Nissan 4X4 pickup in snow deeper than that in Alaska. Not too impressed with that Rodeo you got there

Maybe it was the driving?

Better luck next week

David,
Yes it does. You need the SWM conversion kit, part number 0414-213.

They're spendy, but beautiful quality.

Hirobo are coming out with a new machine as you may know. Hirobo realized they need to step it up to be with the new balls to the wall 3d machines and i think if DOMinik can win with a new head on an old frame then with a new frame and head its going to be ridiculous. But i guess im biased a little.

Bill,
Did a test hop on the Evo 90 today. Boy do these 90's suck fuel!!!
Motor still running rich. Engine temp around 125* Clicked the needle several clicks and got her to 153*. Still rich, but motor still fairly new. First landing took out the carbon tail blades. Heli sunk in mud tail blades hit rock... the rest is history. Lonnie has another set of spare in some stuff he bought at Monrow. Put them on and then spooled it up and muffler came loose. Have to love murphy's law. Got that fixed then did second tank through it. No problems but my rev max is not working right. Need to re set it up... Did it from memory and I think something is off.. Otherwise nice heli. Just forgot what the 90's were like. Going with plastic tail blades untill the ground firms up on all the heli's. Just cheaper to ding up plastic tail blades. Need to get a couple of gallons of fuel to keep flying this thing.

Even with shorter flight times it's easy to get spoiled on the 90's.

I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

Yes Greg, the test hop was awsome. The blades did not need any adjustment for tracking. I did have a small tail wag. I think that is just a bit of tweaking to the 611 gyro.
What a nice ship. Hope to fly mid week and finish the motor break in.
