Anyone else experience a half volt difference in voltage display between AR6000 RX and AR7000/AR6100 RX bindings and know the reason for it?

When bound to DSM2 RXs my DX7 will display the correct battery voltage but when bound to AR6000 RXs it displays a half volt lower - I can switch between models that are bound to the different RXs and the voltage display will change right along with - Likewise I can change a model binding back and forth between the different RXs and still the displayed voltage will change right along with - Always exactly a half volt difference

Why is this?

In DSM1 the power consumed by the transmitter is higher so the battery volts is depressed.

Yeah I guess that's it - I knew the power consumption was higher but I didn't think it was putting that much actual load on the pack - I pulled the pack to test the voltage and didn't think to test it left in with the radio powered on duh

Half a volt does sound a bit high - I see around 2 tenths. The half doesn't speak well for your battery.

How does the transmitter know if it has bound to a DSM1 or a DSM2 reciever?

DSM2 RXs send signal back to the TX during binding and DSM1 RXs don't so the TX listens for signal and if none then defaults to DSM1 mode for that model

There was a tread about that the Tx goes back to DSM if you press the bind button and the rx isnt on ? dont remember it more then briefly...but I gues its a important thing to know...
Anybody that know all about it or have a link to that tread.

I have to rebind to be shure that my tre models still are at DSM2.

Yep - I didn't know or even think about the bind button issue - I just tried it and just looking at my voltage drop it indeed seems to change my DSM2 modes to DSM1 modes when powering on with the bind button pressed - But I use a TX stand that protects the button so I've never managed to accidently turn my TX on with the bind button pressed
