I just started rebuilding my heli room and I want some ideas as to what it should have. The room is a full rebuild, even ripped out the flooring.

I'm thinking of making a large L shape workbench.
Need ideas on how to hang the heli's.
Any ideas on where to get some cool banners like JR or Align.

What else should the "ultimate" heli room have?

Post your pics! I'll post mine when the room is done, here are a couple of shots pre-rebuild.

A stripper pole and a big fridge
Television, phone,if you can do carpet that would be cool.
Build yourself a good height that's comfortable for you.Make sure it's a big bench since you're starting from scratch.Looks like you have a handle on storage

I'm too lazy to take a pic for you, but my heli room has an old solid core door that I used to build a bench. And I have an 18" wide, 4 drawer base cabinet with a lazy susan on the top and a piece of ply on top of that for working on the helis. I can swivel it around 360 degrees. Works great! But I vote for the pole and fridge!

I made a 4x8 work surface with 3/4" MDF and covered it with a nice sheet of formica.I build all types of items on it and misc.repairs and it is nice and slippery for turning the helis around.TV and computer and wood stove make it comfortable.

I think carpet is a bad idea for a heli workroom because if you drop a little screw.....Just don't forget a comfortable recliner for when you take a break during a build, and of course internet hookup, because what is a heli room without RR access! Put some thought into lighting as well, that can make or break a good workroom.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and you can buy 3 unfinished cabinets with drawers and then buy the pre-made counter tops. Works real nice. The counter tops have a slight rolled lip that nothing will roll off of the bench and there is a 3 inch back splash built on them. Simple quick and real handy.

Quick...here comes my wife....hide that new Heli !!!!

Buy some cheap internal doors, use them as work surfaces & aboce all lighting really will make a BIG difference.
The pole is a good idea, how about a pole dancer to go with it as a side entertainment

Seems to me that ALL heli's beat the air into submission

If you do carpet, make sure its the commercial grade that way anything that falls will not be lost in shag. oh yeah ,make it a light color so you can find things that fall. And also another computer for the room just in case you need some referance or a heli question. And a stripper pole.

How funny helicrack, yeah some ceramic tile messed me up!

Thanks for all the responses so far, a turntable sounds like a really good idea. For the flooring I'm going with new tile, carpet doesn't sound like fun for trying to find screws and such.

I used my old kitchen stuff after a remodel.
Lots and lots of shelf space for stuff.
I good power supply maybe a long strip like I have along the counter top.
A good broom and dust pan.
Garbage can.
Stripper for the stripper pole!!!
Some sort of organizer for the small stuff.
A box of band-aid, don't ask.
Paper-towel holder
Ect...

The room I have now is carpeted. At first I didn't like it, but after dropping a few things that would have beeen damaged with tile, but were fine with the rug, I like it!
